We visited Georgia as a couple from the Netherlands and we highly recommend Hotel Utskho to others traveling to this wonderful country.
This incredibly charming hotel in the renowned Kakheti wine region is run by Tamara, who has practically elevated hospitality to an art form. This is not least due to her warm personality, but certainly also to the way she has furnished and decorated her hotel. With an eye for the smallest details, and truly meticulous attention to detail.
Especially during the Christmas season (when we were there), it feels like stepping into a postcard; it's so beautiful and atmospheric (including the fireplace). And very importantly: high-quality beds and spotless, warmly decorated rooms, each very spacious and well-appointed.
However, the place where you'll most want to stay is the "lobby, " which is essentially a spacious living room. A perfect place to completely unwind. Guests immediately feel at home, and everything has been thought of. It feels like you're a guest in Tamara's home, and in fact, you are. ;-)
We were also delighted with the quality of the food, which is again prepared with the utmost care and love in her beautiful kitchen.
One thing is certain: once you visit Hotel Utskho, you'll definitely want to return! Thank you, Tamara, and we hope many other travelers will visit you in beautiful Georgia.

Of the hotels we stayed at during our eleven-day trip through Georgia, this was by far our favorite. Utshko is located a bit outside the city center, but strategically just a stone's throw from the university. The interior is spot-on, both in terms of ambiance and her passion for decoration. The enthusiastic owner truly shows her talent here, a wonderful cook who surrounds you with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. You could even eat off the floor, everything is so clean. With a bit of luck, you'll snag a room on the veranda, overlooking a delightful garden with a covered lounge area. Fashionistas should definitely visit the Italian boutique in the basement. A special tip for Christmas lovers: book this hotel in December or January, when the living room is decorated in an almost fairytale-like style. It's no wonder we decided to book another room at Utshko for our second holiday in Georgia. In short, highly recommended!
