Linareva Moorea Beach Resort

Pros: Nice spot on the water. Good value. Convenient to the southern part of the island. Rooms were large, with kitchen, large shower and bathroom. The place was spotless. Cons: you can't drink the water and we stayed for 4 days and they gave us 1 bottle of water. They say they have a coffee maker but never mention you can't use the water. The Wi-Fi is terrible. I notified the office immediately that I couldn't get a connection. I needed Wi-Fi so I could activate my cell service. They let me activate it in the office and still never fixed the Wi-Fi in the room. One morning I sat right next to the Wi-Fi extender at about 2am and I still couldnt get a connection. Parking can also be an issue.

We stayed at the Linareva for 7 nights and never wanted to leave. Being right on the ocean was the best part of this stay. The snorkeling right off the pier is okay and convenient, but we especially loved using the free kayaks to paddle out further on the reef, anchor, and snorkel/explore stunning pristine corals (rays, turtles etc, just be mindful of the current). The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful, and found us a private boat tour with a fantastic operator (Koa Boats) at a very reasonable rate. They also promptly fixed the AC when our mini-split had an issue. When our toddler got sick, the owner gave us excellent advice on which doctor to see and how to get an appointment, and even shared her kids' toys with us! We loved being out of town on the quiet west side of the island, with more privacy and more breeze (practically no mosquitos). There are several grocery stores (fresh bread and croissant every morning) and takeout places within biking distance but most of the public beaches/sightseeing require a car and we were glad we had a rental. The grounds are beautiful and impeccably maintained (mango, papaya, breadfruit, dragonfruit and flowers galore).
This Linareva is not a fancy resort. Instead it is laid back, friendly, comfortable, and well provisioned (studios with kitchens, free snorkel gear, kayaks, bikes, etc. ) This is a fantastic place to base your DIY Moorea adventure: we can't wait to go back!

Fabulous stay here! Beautiful spot with amazing owner, Vanessa and staff, especially Momo. So helpful and generous — even loaned us her personal car to go to the market! Thank you Momo! 💕💕. We stayed in beachfront cabin 4. Loved it! Breakfast was delicious. Everything you need to enjoy the location — snorkelling gear, kayaks, bicycles. We would love to come back and stay longer!

Staff was extremely helpful and helped us book several day trips. Easy parking directly in front. Staff gave recommendations for dinner and food options. Rooms were good, more bugs than anticipated but that’s trade off with open air. There is a river next to hotel that empty’s and brings colder water to ocean. Not ideal for snorkeling off the dock but was also there during rainy season. They have canoes and paddle boards you can use.

We loved staying at the Linareva Beach Resort. Our bungalow was comfy, clean, well equipped, and an amazing porch especially eating breakfast. The staff were friendly from the check in to everyone else. We liked that it is located on the west side of the island which we experienced amazing sunsets from the pier. It is paradise with being private. We did rent a car to make it easier to get around the island and to go to some excursions. I highly recommend staying here as you will not be disappointed.

Linareva is a wonderful small resort set on a beautiful waterfront area. It is very low key and the owners are truly wonderful people who are so helpful and generous. The staff are also great and super responsive. The resort is on a more secluded part of the island, which was our preference. Snorkeling off the pier was great! We stayed in the villa, which can easily sleep two couples. The kitchen was very handy and the outdoor space very pleasant.

Four of us stayed in the “family villa” in the middle of the resort property. We had two comfortable air conditioned king rooms. The great room, kitchen and a loft with three twin beds are all open air and open onto a nice patio with a big table, couches, and a hammock. We had two baths with showers and toilets that allowed each couple their own bathroom. We made our own breakfasts each day, but noticed the good looking breakfasts being carried to the other cottages. The resort has kayaks, bicycles, etc to borrow and a great long pier with a ladder for snorkeling inside the lagoon. We also very much enjoyed yoga on the pier at sunset—magical! Exceptionally helpful and welcoming staff.

My husband and I stayed at Linareva for 3 nights after a Paul Gauguin cruise. We were celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary. I am so glad we chose Linareva as one of the places we stayed on our vacation.
The communication during booking and before arriving was excellent and very helpful.
We appreciated being given a tour of the property when we arrived by one of the owners, David. He showed us all of the equipment we could borrow, and walked us out on the dock and pointed out the sea anemones, told us about he sea life and as if right on cue, a black tipped shark swam by!
The resort had a series of little cottages, or beach/garden bungalows. They had a casual, colourful, cottagey feel. The best part was a beautiful breakfast that was delivered to your porch in the morning, of eggs, bacon, fresh fruit, fresh croissants. Baguette, coffee, juice and jams. The staff were so helpful recommending restaurants for dinner and phoning to make the reservation.
One of the reasons chose Linareva was the reviews I read about he snorkelling. I LOVE to snorkel and wanted to find a place with good snorkelling. I was very excited to discover a huge outcropping of sea anemones, right beside the dock that would close up and night to look like orange pumpkins! During my snorkeling, I managed to find a couple of Clown fish (my Bucket List fish to find on this trip to the French Polynesia) I enjoyed taking one of the kayaks out towards the reef to explore one of the afternoons.

We felt immediately how stunning our time here would be with the tour of the property upon arrival. The views are stunning. The property absolutely gorgeous. Beds great. The hosts and staff are genuine and informative and helpful. When in a pickle with our credit card, voila, Vanessa and David sorted it with ease. Looking forward to returning.

There’s no place more deserving of a stellar review in all our travels and yet I’ve taken this long to write one — I think because I read so many exemplary reviews before booking this place that I knew they weren’t short of 5 star reviews. Still, I want to share how glad I am for booking here during our second trip to Moorea. Our first included the over water bungalow experience and that was amazing but we didn’t want or need to have the same experience or spend in a night what we could stay for a handful of days at Linareva. Staying here was a true oasis. Private, peaceful, safe, welcoming, comfortable and spacious and clean! I don’t want to share the ways in which the kind owners went out of their way to help with transportation and advise on other cost saving alternatives for fear of having them feel obliged to do the same for everyone, but it wouldn’t surprise me if they did. Many kind gestures they go beyond traditional hospitality! My husband almost didn’t trust their generous offer initially as we are so unaccustomed to such generosity and kindness. These are good people running a great business and staff is kind and seem happy by extension.
There are some restaurants who will pick you up to drive you to and from dinner if you have no car. Not as many lunch options by foot but at least one delivers and was our go-to.

Our family of four had the BEST time at Linareva Moorea Beach Resort! The owner Vanessa and her crew worked so hard to make sure we had everything we needed and made us feel so welcome. They helped us with reservations for activities and restaurants and gave clear instructions. The little bungalows are decorated in traditional Tahitian style, and you get a great feel for an authentic Tahitian home. It's very clean, but basic. This is not posh like the Sofitel, but we like it better because it is down to earth and quiet and more personal. Plus, it's not far from restaurants and places to eat. Though we had a kitchen in our bungalow, we loved the outdoor fridge where we could get a super cold drink to pay for later at check out. Such a brilliant idea. Our favorite thing about our stay was their dock from which to look at the incredible land, snorkel, swim, catch beautiful sunsets, and then stargaze. We also had a blast kayaking. The only thing we would change is to stay longer! We sure hope to be back again! Maururu Vanessa and Rumia and the rest of the crew!

Hosts and staff were so wonderful — helpful, kind and made our stay that much more incredible. We also loved the bed, clean room, great shower, and the private space we had outside our door. Also loved the pier and the access to snorkeling off the dock or kayaking further out to snorkel in the beautiful aqua blue water. We would definitely stay here again! And I do not write reviews — but had just to to because of how wonderful this place was :) ) ) )

What an idyllic place for some R&R. Steps from a private beach, with a lovely wooden pier that you can walk out to where you can jump in, swim and snorkel among the coral and fish. Free snorkel gear, kayaks, and more to borrow. Great sunsets. And getting breakfast delivered to your own patio is a real treat. It's easiest to have a car here since nothing is nearby, but kitchenettes mean you can bring a few groceries and easily be on your own for lunch and snacks. We loved our time here and hope to come back with more family next time!

Had a great time here for just one night. We got the 2 room suite for our family and the AC was great, kitchen setup was impressive for those who prefer to eat in, and they have a list of restaurants that deliver. The staff was extremely friendly, the owners live on site and were very sweet to my kids. The dock that goes out has a bench on it that was so tranquil to drink coffee and watch the lagoon. We took the kayaks around and the kids loved playing on the small private beach. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

A lovely family-owned/ran hotel in a quiet part of Moorea. Stayed here for a couple of days and even before arriving, Rumia at the front desk was on top of everything. She even doublechecked the ferry schedule to help coordinate our ride to and from the hotel (50, 000 xpf one way for four people). Checkout is at 10am but since we had time to kill before our ferry, she even helped us with ordering food so we could have lunch — she truly went above and beyond.
Everyone at the hotel was so friendly and the vibes were welcoming. The deck was really cool in how you could snorkel right off the end and see a bunch of coral. The hotel had free kayaks, snorkel masks, and fins to borrow. We kayaked and the water is so beautiful — even when the weather was cloudy/drizzly, it was a joy to see the fish and coral.
Note that the Wi-Fi is pretty spotty and if you stay in the bungalow close to the deck, then only the master bedroom has AC (the twin beds outside don’t and the fan wasn’t working). There’s a kitchen with various pots and pans along with a kettle. There’s a table with a reclining chair on the back as well as a little brown kitty that came to visit. I’d highly recommend staying here if you come to Moorea.
