This is a small hotel with 10 rooms in a large 19th century house a short walk from Monet's house and gardens. It also has a restaurant with a patio. We spent Ascension Thursday at the hotel and this is the start of a 4-day weekend in France. Needless-to-say, the restaurant was extremely busy both at lunch and at dinner but they were very well staffed and we had a wonderful dining experience. Our room was a bit on the compact side with an en suite bathroom shoehorned into an old closet but it was perfectly fine: quiet, clean, and comfortable. The windows opened to permit a welcome breeze. Breakfast was expensive at €11 per person but was good with the usual buffet: coffee, juices, eggs hardboiled and scrambled, croissants, etc… It is served in a second dining room. I have no reservations about recommending both the hotel and the restaurant. There is ample free parking for guests which was a relief given how crowded the village was. Unrelated to the hotel, I would strongly recommend that one do their best to avoid busy days if you are visiting Monet's Gardens — Foundation Monet makes no attempt to restrict the number of visitors and the entire estate was absolutely stuffed with shuffling visitors standing cheek by jowl. Because we bought our tickets months in advance, we only had to queue about 10 minutes before joining the fray — those who had to buy tickets at the gate first had to endure a very very long standing queue on the street. All in all, that aspect of our visit was a huge disappointment. Thankfully, La Musardiere was everything that we hoped for and made for a very nice last night of our six weeks in France.
