Although France has improved its catering for vegetarians, I am largely restricted to a diet of pizza and chips. What a breath of fresh air then, to stumble on this little cafe in the tiny hamlet of Vals. Our Dutch waitress was delightful and spoke fluent English. She accommodated our party of 6, passing pilgrims, locals and other holiday makers with ease.
I was delighted to have a choice of foods, with vege tapas and salads. It was also possible to mix and match, as the salads came in 2 different sizes.
I also think that this would be a wonderful place to spend a dark, winter's evening, sitting near the log burner, playing some of the board games that were available or bashing out some tunes on the piano.

My wife and I have visited Cafe Vals on numerous occasions both by ourselves and also with our family. The service and the standard of food served is always absolutely outstanding whatever dish we have ordered. Value for money is also exceptional. It is our favourite go to restaurant in this area by a very long way. Thank you for always looking after us so well whenever we visit. You deserve to do very well indeed! Richard & Judie.

Very comfortable and affordable with a cosy atmosphere and welcoming hospitality. Highly recommended for a peaceful lunchtime with desert.
