A traditional residence from the end of the 19th century, the Hotel Edelweiss is 200 metres from a free shuttle bus, which drives the 1 km to Serre Chevalier ski slopes and Monetier-les-Bains. Guest rooms are well equipped and comfortable. The hotel offers a cosy reading room in which to relax at the end of the day. Breakfast is served in the large dining room. Surrounded by a charming park, the Hotel Edelweiss offers Wi-Fi Internet access and babysitting service for your convenience. I understand that it’s supposed to be a 2star hotel in France (yes, it certainly makes a difference), but good gosh, mould on the bottom of the shower curtain, broken tiles, no heat, no a/c, broken shower head, broken shower head holder, just an open hole in the sink, beds that are sunken in, the room was obviously smoked in, the bathroom smells of sewage, noise from above, noise from below (creaky floors), spotty Wi-Fi, and if you happen to make a reservation directly with the hotel, there’s no price advantage as opposed to going through booking, and my favourite was the 15 minute ‘extended’ checkout we were granted. Otherwise, the staff was nice. It’s a very small step above camping, with the flaw of noise and price. I can only assume that they have one or two better quality rooms, otherwise I can’t fathom how they have their rating, as it does not reflect our experience.
➜ The location is close to the charming old town of Briancon, with beautiful bright rooms, with wooden walls and a balcony with fantastic views. Be careful because breakfast is usually not included in the offers on specialized sites. Polite staff but I do not use the Italian language.

Small hotel located a 5-minute walk to the lowest door of that delightful country that is Brianon. We have stayed at this hotel twice. The first one did not go so well because we were assigned room 7: the bathroom would test even a child as small as it is and the arear is only for beauty. On the way back from our trip it went better as we stayed in another room with a more livable bathroom. There is no air conditioning but you do not feel the need: here it is cold at night even in August. There's no elevator. The hair dryer you have to ask for it at the reception because you will not find it in the room. Free parking space inside the hotel courtyard.
