Our car had broken down on a trip out to Alp D'huez and our breakdown team had us towed off the mountain back to Bourg d'oisins to a Renault garage, who wouldn't even look at our car (We have a Range Rover) We had a coolant leak and think maybe a hose or a seal has gone b…ut because of protective casing and no tools, couldn't look ourselves.
Anyway, they left us stranded for seven and a half hours with two children, before we were eventually taken in a taxi for the night to the Mercure at Les Deux Alpe. What a lovely, friendly welcome we had. They looked after our bags so we could quickly get dinner in the restaurant before it shut, then gave us a wonderful room overnight, allowing us to get some sleep and freshen up. They lent us a mobile phone charger, allowing us to charge our phones. In the morning. Due to the ineptitude of our Motor Assistance breakdown team, the following morning, we took matters into our own hands and decided to try and find our own way back to our caravan, which was situated on a campsite about 80km away.
