The welcoming of our 2 hosts, a castle on a human scale… a park sublime❤❤… magnificent salons… a heater that works divinely well even during a month of February, very cold… the pillows look great and a very good bedding❤… and especially of the bathrooms of stars… the peacocks outside are amazing beauty❤. I loved my stay and I look forward to coming back very soon ❤

Beautiful, quiet and elegant. This castle has everything you'd ever expect from a classic 1780's chateau, complete with peacocks, statues and a lovely swanlake. It is just like staying at Cinderella's mansion and the breakfast is worthy of a king.

It’s our favorite place to stay when visiting this region of France. The chateau is very close to Mont St. Michel and other points of interest. The property is immense and offers many places to explore while enjoying a long walk. A few of the wonderful things to see are the majestic swans living in the natural river, beautiful horses grazing in the fields and the Romantic Tower built originally as the chateau’s water container. The owners take exceptional care of the manor and grounds. They enjoy serving a fabulous breakfast each morning with local ingredients and fresh produce. It truly is a unique place with its superb service, lavish guest rooms and historical offerings.

This place is absolutely beautiful! Bernard and Ignace are so wonderful. They have a real passion for this place and work very hard to on the upkeep and updating. I can't wait to return.

My parents came to stay for the 31 gift that we had done. They were thrilled, enchanted by this place. The dinner of the 31st was excellent. The lords were very understanding, friendly and very nice we highly recommend this place full of history and art.

Beautiful, quiet exquisite chateau impeccably furnished with an unbelievable breakfast. The hosts are wonderful and the 19 acres of grounds with walking paths are truly meditative. Wish I could stay longer and highly recommended.

Amazing property near Mont Saint-Michel where we were welcomed with warmest hospitality. Breakfast was to die for and was served in a lavish dining room. Bernard also booked us in to a quaint local crepe restaurant who served the thinnest tastiest apple crepe! French country hospitality done great! We would love to go back for a longer stay next time.

We had an amazing night at the Chateau! It felt like we were living out a scene in a favorite book or movie. Bernard's attention to detail is incredible and the breakfast was extravagant. It was a once in a lifetime treat for our family!

I stayed at Chateau de Chantore with a friend for 2 nights. It was an absolute pleasure: the location is beautiful, the atmosphere truly unique and breakfast divine. The owners are very welcoming and accommodating and do everything they can to make sure your stay is as comfortable as possible. I can't wait to come back!

A spectacular Chateau renovated in the last 5 years to a very high standard. Bernard (one of the owners) is a top class host and his attention to detail helps make a stay at the Chateau very memorable.

Bernard and Itzhaki are the proprietors of this amazing chateau and estate. And it seems they have purchased this chateau to house their amazing art and furniture collection (mostly Louis XIV-LouisXVI era). Chatting with them about all of the details of the collection, the chateau and the grounds was easily our favorite part of the stay and they willingly answered all of my many questions with enthusiasm. Our room was stunning and well appointed with a modern bathroom and shower. The balcony overlooking the estate and Mont St. Michel was lovely. They serve an outstanding breakfast of homemade baked goods, jams, juices, cheese and ham, as well as eggs on request. They will also point you in the direction of great restaurants nearby or make the reservations for you. You must save time to walk the grounds. They are nothing short of stunning. Horses, swans, peacocks, a lake with a waterfall, 200 year old rhododendrons, a stable… the list goes on. In the summer it stays light until quite late, so we walked around the grounds both evenings. They do allow small children and when we were there there was a family with a toddler who ran up and down the halls, screamed until late at night, sang throughout breakfast and left her belongings in the common hallway, which did detract from the stay so keep that in mind if it is something that would bother you.

Absolutely magical. We booked last minute due to an unplanned road trip from Paris. They were not expecting us because it was so last minute but could not have been more welcoming. A glass of cider was served in the sitting room and then we were shown our room and dinner reservations were made for us. The grounds are so beautiful that we lost track of time trying to soak it all up before dinner. We could not get enough of our Downton Abbey style breakfast which we would like to have enjoyed more but wanted to squeeze in more time to explore. This stop made our entire trip. We cannot wait to bring our family back next year!

We have discovered a refined place, a real parenthesis in time. Greeted by a attentive and discreet host who made us share his passion of the 18th. My daughter and I had the most lovely time at Chateau de Chantore last March. Bernard was the most gracious host, from serving apple cider in the Blue Salon, making reservations in town for a lovely dinner to serving the most fabulous breakfast in the lovely dining room. He encouraged us to explore the grounds which were amazing in their own right. The rooms were gorgeous, the home being decorated with loving attention. We were in heaven and cannot wait until we return.

If you find yourself an American in Paris and want to get away from the hustle and bustle of City Life (and tourists) make your way to Bacilly (10min outside Avranches) where you will find one of the most charming, welcoming Historic Chateau France has to offer, the hosts were ever so kind and offer a wealth of knowledge of the area and their inviting grounds, they even went out of the way to make great dinner recommendations and reservations upon request, which you should take them up on, meals you will not want to miss! The chateau has an enormous walking grounds (that even come with a map) with all sorts of little hidden treasures and info along relaxing walking path, also, make sure to not skip the breakfast, never have we felt like such royalty and treated to such a spread.

The chateau is very beautiful, but more important is the kindness and personal interest of the owners. We were greeted warmly, and that warmth continued throughout our stay. The grounds are very peaceful, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. P. S. Breakfast is not to be missed, delicious and very Norman. The apples and honey come from the chateau grounds.

It is an incomparable place, the expectations are far from what one discovers in reality, exceeding pleasantly everything that one can imagine the traveler. Its owners, Iñaki and Bernard, make this place of film even more spectacular thanks to its explanations on the history of the chateau and the region, the local products in addition to treating the guest with a exquisiteness out of the ordinary, … very nice and attentive.
The chateau inside is amazing, all tastefully decorated, rooms and dream rooms. The breakfast also amazing. The exteriors are quiet, pure nature, well cared for, wonderful songs of birds of all kinds brighten the days of the guest. The truth is that you run out of words.
Definitely a place to visit as many times as possible. We will do so, there are many places nearby to take days visiting, like the famous Mont Saint Michel.

Magnifique! The owners have done superb work of restoring the chateau to period perfect, and they can provide detailed explanations. I have learned a lot about the colors used in that time era, the fabrics, the styles. They even know the story of everyone pictured on the frames. From the yard one can see the Mont St-Michel. We will remember our royal breakfast served by our warm and welcoming hosts. My wife, son and I had a wonderful time. We will go back in the summer. Thank you Bernard and Inaki for preserving history with so much passion :)

Unbelievably beautiful, wonderful service makes one feel like royalty. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, my only regret is we didn't stay here long enough.

Last summer was all super. Very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere of the Breakfast fabulous. Walk the estate was forced to endure STRONG emotions we wish the Owner success and to the stars.

Princely welcome, of rare kindness, the setting is beautiful what a pleasure to chat with the owner who has made this castle a beautiful and relaxing place. We'll keep an unforgettable memory of it. The only regret is that you didn't stay any longer to enjoy the beautiful park.

Absolutely amazing, the owner is friendly, he made us comfortable and inviting. There are 2 lakes with swans and carps, dogs, and horses, the entire property is well taken care of, it was a joy to wake up in the morning and had an amazing breakfast!
