We wish we could give more than 5 stars! Staying at AureFées was one of the highlights of our trip. David was so kind and hospitable! He made us an amazing locally-sourced charcuterie spread for dinner, and a delicious breakfast (including eggs from his chickens and apple juice he made himself! )
The room was very clean and comfortable, and the rest of the grounds were immaculate.
It was a very short drive from Bayeax, and a quick day trip to Mont Saint-Michel. If we ever return to Normandy, we will absolutely stay here!
AureFées is a very beautiful house, and has been tastefully renovated. The gardens and pool area are gorgeous.
We would have rated this 5 stars but we did struggle with the slight inflexibility around certain aspects…. We were not allowed extra pods for the coffee machine in the room, nor any milk, and a fridge to have chilled our own wine would have been appreciated.
This is very lovely as a B&B, but perhaps not so easy for a slightly more casual family experience.

I don't know why this property does not have more reviews. I usually do not write reviews, but for this property I had to. It is beautiful and the pictures do not do it justice. It was definitely remodeled and decorated by a professional. The grounds are beautiful and very inviting. The breakfast is served in a very pleasant area and it is delicious. The house is located close to the center of Bayeux. If you are driving, there is ample parking right outside of the house and it is a very short drive to town. You will not get a place to stay in town for the cost of this property and with comparable quality and amenities. The rooms are very comfortable, professionally decorated and just an excellent experience all around. David, the owner and host is a very kind man. One night we were stranded at the train station (after returning our rental car) and could not get an Uber or taxi to pick us up. We felt horrible bothering him, but we had no choice. We contacted him late at night to ask him to call a taxi for us (we do not speak French, so we were convinced that it was a communication issue). He said to us that he would pick us up in 5 minutes. I told him to please just call a taxi for us, but he insisted, he said we were not going to get a taxi to go to the station at that time. He picked us up, I don't know what we would have done had he not come to our rescue. I will never forget his gesture.
