Château de Sibra is a truly enchanting escape, perfect for recharging your spirit in peaceful surroundings. The expansive grounds, embraced by nature, offer stunning views that captivate and soothe the soul. The château, resembling a fairy tale castle, is rich with character, featuring hidden doors, beautifully decorated rooms, and inviting fireplaces.
From the moment we arrived, we felt a warm family atmosphere, thanks to the wonderful and friendly staff who seemed eager to make our stay memorable. The self-service tea and coffee facilities in the main hall were a lovely touch, but the staff went above and beyond, often surprising us with drinks, including their delightful homemade elderflower syrup with sparkling water.
Our minimalist room was perfect, providing a distraction-free environment to relax. The absence of a phone and TV allowed us to fully immerse ourselves in the experience, while the stunning flower garden outside filled our space with a captivating aroma. Even during a heatwave, the thick castle walls kept us cool, and the lovely housekeeper provided a fan for added comfort.
The grounds themselves are magical, resembling a fairytale forest with serene spots for picnics, birdwatching, or getting lost in a good book. The small pool was an inviting option for a refreshing morning dip.
Breakfast was a delight, featuring fresh fruits, muesli, yogurt, homemade jams, honey from their own bees, fresh bread, croissants, and a selection of cheeses and eggs.

Château de Sibra is the ideal escape to recharge, nestled in breathtaking grounds surrounded by nature and stunning views. This enchanting retreat boasts a warm, family-like atmosphere, run by friendly staff who genuinely care for their guests.
Resembling a fairytale castle, the château features hidden doors, beautifully decorated rooms with fireplaces, and hand-painted wallpaper. The self-service tea and coffee facilities add convenience, but the attentive staff lovingly surprised us with delightful drinks, especially their homemade elderflower syrup with sparkling water.
Our minimalist room provided a distraction-free environment, enhanced by the lovely scent of the flower garden just outside. Though there’s no air conditioning, the thick walls kept us cool, and a fan was provided for added comfort.
The magical grounds resemble a fairytale forest with perfect spots for picnics, birdwatching, and reading, with a refreshing small pool for morning dips. Breakfast was a delicious feast of fresh fruit, muesli, yogurt, homemade jams, and a selection of cheeses and eggs.
The standout experience was the surprise set menu, which exceeded many Michelin-starred dining experiences. It’s a must-try!

The only downside?

Château De Sibra is now my absolute favourite place to stay. It’s an exceptionally peaceful and relaxing place, with a genuine family atmosphere that makes you feel at home. My wife was particularly taken with all the small touches, such as fresh wild flowers in the room which smelt amazing and how they made their own soap.
Sibylle has done a remarkable job restoring the château—preserving its original charm while adding thoughtful touches that enhance the experience. We were warmly greeted by the lovely Leslie, who, along with Sibylle and Rachel, took exceptional care of us throughout our stay. Nothing was ever too much trouble.
Breakfasts were a highlight—served on a terrace with breathtaking views of the Pyrenees. The spread was perfect: eggs, croissants, yogurt, fresh fruits, granola, cheese, smoothy, homemade jam, and their own honey. The evening surprise menus are an absolute must. Chef Rachid prepared a meal that rivalled (and even surpassed) many Michelin-starred restaurants we’ve visited. On our second night, Sibylle herself cooked an equally exquisite dinner. Both meals were served on the terrace, with the mountains as a stunning backdrop.
We truly can’t recommend Château De Sibra enough. It’s a magical place, and we’re already planning our return.
