Le Couvent

A superb little family stay in a magnificent setting.
We had a very pleasant time at Louise's in this superb corner of Aveyron.
The rooms are spacious, authentic with all the necessary comfort.
Louise’s table d’hôte is delicious and creative!
Young and old will enjoy the goats, cats and dogs on the property.
The Convent’s greatest asset is its host! Louise is an adorable, smiling, available and very attentive host.
We will come back for our next visit for sure!

Extraordinary! Quiet place, far from the city and from auditory and visual pollution (practical for looking at the stars more easily in the evening).
We enjoyed ourselves. The convent is tastefully renovated, our room was spacious (despite 2 adults, a baby in a child's bed and 2 dogs), the bathroom impeccable. The perfect bedding, it's been a long time since I slept as well anywhere else as at home.
The hostess, of unparalleled kindness, is also a very good cook and gives good advice for diving and other activities in the area.
A little extra for the children, 4 goats wander around the gîte all day long, and a patou comes to keep you company from time to time.
If we ever come back to the area, it will definitely be here!

An extraordinary welcome, a magnificent view, a typical place steeped in history. And Louise, in addition to being a host who takes great care of her visitors, is a very good cook! It’s truly a charming, relaxing, enriching stay. Without forgetting the dogs Beau and Flocky, the cats and the goats…

We stayed 3 nights at this absolute gem of a chambre d’hôtes.   We were warmly welcomed by the owner, her dog, a few goats and another dog who visits every day. Le Couvent is a lovely old house with a really interesting background story and has amazing views of the valley and village church. Our pretty room was spacious  with a most comfortable bed, we slept so well during our stay. Dinner, pre dinner aperitifs and appetisers (including a very special cocktail one evening) each night were delicious. Louise is a perfect host and so knowledgeable about the area.    Mustn’t forget to mention that breakfasts were amazing too. Of course, our own dog was truly welcomed and by day three was considering herself part of the pack. We're already thinking about next year's holiday and this great place is definitely on the list for a return visit, hopefully for a little longer!

This is the best hotel we have ever been to. Louise is amazing. We were there for about 10 days and felt like we were on holiday with our family! I cannot recommend this place enough. Beautiful hotel, stunning location and above all, the most wonderful person running it.

This lovely old building has been tastefully restored and now provides two double bedrooms and one which is able to accommodate a family of four, all rooms being en suite. It is set on the hillside above the hamlet of St Just-sur-Viaur within a short drive of the main N88 highway which, in turn, provides quick access to major sites and towns of the area — Albi, Gaillac, Rabastens, Cordes-sur-Ciel and Rodez. An ideal base from which to explore this area. Although properly listed as a "bed and breakfast" operation (and not a "hotel" as ridiculously allocated by Tripadvisor), Louise, the owner, will happily whip up a four course evening meal if asked — very useful after a day's outing: the breakfasts are generous and tasty and the dinners varied, delicious and beautifully presented. Louise (assisted by and her two dogs and two cats) makes a stay a real "home from home" experience. Very comfortable bed, lashings of hot water with good pressure pressure, lots of attention to detail. Thoroughly delightful.
