2018-08-22 Update: I visited again in August 2018. Nothing has changed. I stand over everything I wrote during my last visit. I really come away from this place relaxed and believing again :-) This is a mighty little spot thats made even better by the discreet, friendly, super knowledge owner/ hostess Isabelle. Drifting south from Dordogne toward Toulouse I swung off the beaten track to check out Rodez. I found this place in a really beautiful rural setting and Isabelle's knowledge of the area made me stay an extra day and really soak up France campagne at its very hidden best. Great country side, fresh clean air and clear sky light I found this break to be a very refreshing and enriching experience. The accomodation is a barn pure and simple in a farmyard context that has been beautifully restored to 21st century standards with a spacious kitchen/ living area with stove. Bedrooms are modern, cosy and spacious at the same time with old style exposed beams. The hostess is a local expert and therefore provides food sourced locally and from neighbouring farms. I can only describe it as scrumptious. Really! I hiked a bit as well after a hearty breakfast and using maps provided by Isabelle found myself lost (virtually) in the surrounding countryside. Isabelle was born and raised here and has returned after living elsewhere in France and is widely travelled. This is valuable in finding things around her place that is of interest to travellers.
