La Maison Famille Hotel

Lovely English, French as well as German and Spanish speaking hosts in gite type accommodation with safe motorcycle parking. Just off the TET in France. Beautifully turned out, clean and really stylish accommodation.

There were 4 families with 6 adults and 7 kids aged 6-11 and we had the whole house. Some had travelled by ferry and car, others via flight to Toulouse and hire car. Our hosts, Sarah and Stuart and their young son greeted us all like old friends. We had pre-arranged an evening meal and this was ready for us in the evening and totally delicious for everyone. One family was new to the place and fell in love with it instantly.
The house is even more attractive than before, with beautiful pieces of vintage French furniture adorning the rooms. There is table football in the games room now and plenty of indoor games but mostly the kids were outside in the pool which now has a wooden deck and had a daily temperature of around 29 degrees. Some had fun chasing lizards and catching crayfish in the river.
We visited markets in Le Mas D'azil and St Giron buying clothes, jewellery, cheese, honey, gifts and all manner of lovely things. On other days we visited swimming lakes which was a lovely way to spend time and keep the kids cool, active and happy.
We also enjoyed the legendary duck kebabs on our last night at a nearby restaurant which were divine!
Next time, some cave exploration is a must as this region is famous for the most incredible caves and cave paintings, and the hosts can recommend some close places to visit, and there are some gorgeous walks. This time, it was all about relaxation and hanging out.

This was a completely laid back experience and had I known I would have booked for a few days. Sara and Stewart were wonderful. They are kind and talked with me during our stay but that was initiated by me. They are happy to allow as much private time as you need. The area is beautiful and there are some nice things to do. My daughter and I were winding down from a 5 week stay in Spain and France so it was great to allow my girl to swim in the pool and play with their little boy. We slept through the night and as promised all we heard were church bells and some night creatures! Do yourself a favor and stop in for a few days! They even have a wolf sanctuary nearby that I would have loved to have gone to see had we had the time! Thank you both!

Superb accommodation and facilities very hard w. Orking hosts Sarah and Stuart highly recommended would defiantly stay again.

Had a fantastic stay here when motorbike touring. My thanks to our hosts (Stu Sarah and Cal) who welcomed us with beers, wine and very comfortable elegant rooms. Nothing was too much trouble. The food Sarah produced was excellent and value for money — restaurant quality and produce sourced locally. The property has a lovely garden and a place to sit, chill out and enjoy a drink, after a good days ride.

Having spent a week here with Stu, Sarah, Callum & MoJo (the 'hound') I can endorse the previous reviews. The house is comfortable and welcoming as is are the hosts. I recommend the cooking of Sarah, you would be a fool not to sample her skills as a 'culinary expert' and be spoilt by her evening meals. Stu is on hand to suggest the best sights locally and 5 year old Callum has some 'strong views on Lego and the Foo Fighters' Recommended for a visit!

Stu and Sarah make you totally welcome. The house is situated within easy drive of Andorra and Spain, and the best driving roads in the French Pyrenees. Evening meals are available on request — and you will not be disappointed! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Had a great week and met some genuinely lovely people. Sarah, Stuart and little Callum made us all feel very welcome in their beautiful home. Very helpful hosts, were always available to help us with any arrangements or enquiries. The house is surrounded by lush views, and its an hours drive from the ski resort. And we got to try Sarah's home made tart tatin which was a bit of a highlight! Wish we didn't have to leave and would love to go back. Would highly recommend 'La Maison Famille' to anybody. X.

We had the most amazing and wonderful week at La Maison Famille. Stuart, Sarah and little Callum were warm and delightful hosts to 5 families with 8 kids under 8! They speak fluent French and have in depth local knowledge of markets, near by towns, great day trips, lakes and things for all manner of visitor to enjoy. The late August weather was gorgeous, and if we got too hot we could cool off in the pool or under many options of shade outside; trees, hammocks, garden furniture and plenty for everyone. The bedrooms were ultra comfy, spacious and well furnished and the large kitchen a hub for many lovely meals, some cooked by us and some by Sarah. I would highly recommend this place to anyone at any time of year be it B&B or hiring the whole place with good friends. We chilled and laughed and ate and drank the very best of the local cuisine both 'at home' and out and about. The Ariege region is absolutely stunning and the house beautifully situated in every sense. I can't recommend it highly enough and we are already planning next year's visit.
