When we first got to the hotel, we were blown away by the customer service as well as how good the apartment hotel looked on the surface. Once we started settling in however, we soon realized just how deceiving looks can be. First, the walls are almost universally scratched and in desperate need of a coat of paint as there are gashes all over the place. There used to be a curtain in front of the kitchen area and now there's just mounting hardware, the dishwasher was missing the wheels on the rack making it difficult to load and unload. The towel warmer in the bathroom lit up a red indicator showing that it was on but never actually warmed up. The toilet usually had to be flushed ~4-5 times to get everything to go down. There's nicks and deep scratches in all the furniture and the couch cushion that is supposed to become one of the beds is so deeply pressed into a bowl like pattern that it's murder on your back. They have a sauna downstairs that must have broken down but instead of fixing it or putting up a sign indicating what was going on, they put up a 90 degree bracket that prevents you from opening the door but allows it to move enough as to make you believe that maybe you're just not doing it right and should continue trying. The fitness area is a joke as it has about 3 cardio machines crammed into a space that looks as though you'd be hitting the walls or other machines while trying to use them. We thought the facilities were bad, but we were in for a shock in regard to hotel policy. We made dinner our first night staying and ended up filling the trash bag to the brim with the packaging required for a 4 person meal. We left the next day and believed our apartment would be cleaned when we got back but found that it was just the way we left it. At this point we called down to the front desk and asked what was going on and were informed that since we were staying for 4 days we couldn't expect any sort of cleaning services. This is despite signs saying that they would be happy to clean for an additional fee and we told them up front that we'd be willing to pay that fee. We had to practically beg for additional trash bags and were told that we had to keep the old bags in our apartment as no one would collect them and we weren't allowed to take them anywhere. This meant we had molding trash bags sitting in the hallway of the apartment and reeking for several days. Completely unacceptable, not to mention a potential health risk. We asked for additional cleaning cloths since their staff wouldn't be in to clean and asked if we could at least get some cleaning chemicals to wipe up the counters. They told us that they couldn't help us with either but thankfully, upon another more insistent request, we managed to get an additional two cleaning cloths. We asked for additional towels on the second day staying as France was very muggy and we were walking a lot and thus needing to shower a lot to avoid smelling and they grudgingly gave us those. Now that I've gotten all the cons of this place out of the way, I will say that the view of the Eiffel Tower was fantastic, the location was close to several subway stations, and some of the front desk staff were and absolute joy to work with despite them being limited in what they were allowed to do.
