We booked a hotel to Hotel Park Lane but wanted to cancel / postpone our trip due to the recent COVID-19 outbreak in France and the travel restrictions imposed by our home country. However, the hotel were very un-empathetic and refused to provide a refund or credit so that we can come on a future date when the situation gets better. Granted that we booked the rooms on a relatively cheap rate, shouldn't the hotel be more understanding about the situation and show a bit of compassion. Are they going to be responsible if we still continue our trip and get infected by the virus? Are they going to be responsible if we come back to our home country and are quarantines?
