As many have said, this hotel is in a great location. Not a touristy part of town, but half a block away from the Richlieu — Druout metro station which is a stop for both the very convenient 8 and 9 lines. It was so nice to come home to our peaceful neighborhood after a day of sight-seeing amongst the crowds. Our room overlooked the Opera Comique which unfortunately for us was under renovation and covered by scaffolding, but from what I could see of the building it must normally be a fantastic view. We had two deluxe rooms, — one for my husband and myself and the other for our sons. Both of our rooms were equipped with stand-up/stalled showers which rivaled the best I have experienced anywhere, let alone in France (where I do not expect much in the shower department). Such a luxury to have a great bathroom when in Europe! I don't understand why so many people say the rooms here are small, unless perhaps it is their first time in Paris, or they are accustomed to staying in hotels that cost 4 times as much as this one. The room was very comfortable. Finally, I would like to send a big "Merci" to Boris, who, on the morning we were departing for the airport, quickly assessed the fact that the street in front of the hotel was blocked by the garbage pickup at that early hour, and ran down the street with our heavy suitcases in tow to direct our cab to a through street down the block so that we would be able to get to the airport on time. We were so bleary-eyed at that hour that it was all we could do to chase after him and pile into the cab, and felt terrible afterward for not thanking him properly for his fast thinking that saved us from missing our flight.
