What a gem! Clean, cozy, and elegant all at the same time. A beautiful property and exactly what comes to mind when you picture a romantic getaway at a farmhouse in the French countryside. Annemieke Is a gracious, kind and generous host. Breakfasts and suppers were a highlight of the stay. Hats off to chef Kris; best meals I’ve had in France. Local ingredients made with creativity, inspiration and care. A must for any gastronomy fans in the area. Bravo.
This is a charming place that well exceeded expectations.
On arrival, the welcome was warm and friendly from Annemieke.
The food was lovely: fresh, full of flavour and made with care by Kris. The rooms were well decorated and a good size.

Where do I even start?
After a last-minute cancellation left us with nowhere to stay and pretty much everything in Épernay showing as fully booked, Épernay Tourisme somehow worked their magic and found us a room at Le Petit Château. We arrived knowing absolutely nothing about it and honestly, it turned out to be one of the best parts of our trip.
From the minute we arrived, Annemieke and Kris made us feel so welcome. They are the kind of hosts who genuinely care about their guests and go out of their way to make sure you have a wonderful stay.
The rooms are gorgeous – beautifully designed, spotlessly clean, cosy, and with some of the comfiest beds we've slept in. The waterfall shower was pretty special too!
The food was incredible. Kris is a fantastic chef and every meal was a real treat. In fact, some of our favourite food from the whole trip was eaten right there at Le Petit Château.
Unfortunately, I arrived with a horrible cold and wasn't feeling my best, but Annemieke and Kris looked after me so kindly, even making fresh herbal teas from herbs picked straight from their garden.
What makes this place truly unforgettable for us, though, is that during our stay my partner proposed. Annemieke and Kris quietly helped him pull everything together behind the scenes and played such a special part in a moment we'll remember for the rest of our lives. Their kindness, thoughtfulness and genuine excitement for us made the whole experience even more magical.
