Hotel Vauban Briançon Serre Chevalier

+Super clean hotel, incredibly helpful and polite staff! Huge bathrooms, very comfortable beds. 5 minutes walk to the ski pass cashiers.

-Breakfast could be a bit more varied, the rooms are good enough. A few more hooks in the rooms would make life easier for all this skiing clothes that need drying.

I am deeply disappointed by the appalling lack of humanity shown by this hotel. My 75-year-old mother, simply in need of a restroom, politely asked for access and was even willing to purchase a coffee or anything they required. Instead of showing basic decency, they turned her away with a cold and disrespectful attitude. No one should support an establishment that treats people this way. If you value kindness and respect, think twice before making a reservation here.

One of the loveliest hotels I’ve ever stayed in, and I travel a lot! The bed was one of the comfiest beds I’ve ever slept in, and cured my insomnia which I have been battling with. The staff are so friendly, and literally bend over backwards to help you. Such a clean and comfy hotel, with outstanding staff. Literally have nothing bad to say about it.

Wonderful experience at Hotel Vauban. We stayed for a week to ski, on arrival at 11am we were delighted to be able to check in after a 3am start. During the week all the staff were so nice to us. The reception were excellent and spoke excellent English. Rooms were comfortable plenty hot water and comfortable beds. Great to recommend and book Resturaunts for us. 5 minutes to ski lifts. Would highly recommend this hotel. Thank you very much to everyone at Hotel Vauban.

Stayed here for a weeks ski holiday at end of Jan/beginning of Feb for a week. Staff were absolutely amazing! So friendly, welcoming and helpful. Hotel/rooms were slightly dated but comfortable and did the job. Only thing I'd comment was the lack of storage space for clothes in the rooms. The bonus though was a bath and a boot room to store ski equipment on the ground floor. It's also about a 5-min walk to the Gondola and ski rental shops and has plenty of restaurants nearby as well as a Carrefour City around the corner. The breakfast was also simple but plentiful to set you up for the day and they have a very well stocked bar in the reception.

Just returned from a ski week staying at this hotel with my husband and daughter. We had 2 very comfortable rooms with lovely views and a great bathroom with a fab shower with plentiful hot water. The hotel experience was excellent. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful, recommending and booking restaurants for dinner and advising about ski equipment and lifts. The closest lift was a short 5 minute walk away. There were many restaurants within 5 minutes walk away and many more up in the medieval city which is a 20 minute walk or 5 mins by (frequent) bus or taxi, and definitely worth a visit.

A nice hotel. I got a great deal on a room at the last minute. Secure bicycle parking allowed in the ski room. Breakfast was a little steep at 12 euros but it was tasty. Staff were friendly and helpful and spoke some English, recommended.

Great location and rooms. Good breakfast, poor internet coverage and speed. Not one of your pictures will upload! Phone data coverage is poor in the hotel also.
You are right in the center of town with a river view or city view.
You stay here because it is right in town, with nice updated rooms.

Great location, close to plenty of restaurants and the ski lift. A good 20 minute walk to the old town. Nicely renovated rooms with comfortable beds and nice bathrooms. No temperature control in the rooms which is odd, sometimes was a bit cool for me. Breakfast is ok, not amazing value for €10, but still decent (bread, jam, some cold meats, eggs, hot drinks). Wifi was average.
