Camping d'Autun

Beautiful, peaceful camping place, walking distance from the ancient city of Autun. Lovely and helpful personnel who make you feel welcome. Dogs get a welcome bag 🤗Good facilities.

We stayed 3 nights and loved our Stay in a mobile home. It is well looked after, clean and shaded. The space is private and has the equipment you need.
There are table tennis, indoor play room, a mini shop. The couple was very friendly. You can order your bread for the next morning. (— 9oclock is a bit late).
The area is lovely. Autun is a nice little town. — the camping does not rent/ let bicycles.

Helpful friendly couple managing the site. We arrived after floods and it was still apparent from the surrounding area. Despite waterlogged areas we were able to park half on half off grass. Glad we did. The site is beautiful and normally pitches have good hedges between them. Big shower/loo blocks but sadly showers need attention as mine wouldnt stay on for more than literally two seconds. Yes I know auto stop makes perfect sense but this wasnt that. Composting needs a big shout as its the first we have seen.
The city of Autun is really worth walking say 15 mins. It has a wealth of Roman history and a great sense of community. We were there 8th May and saw the very moving commemoration of the end of WW2 for France. There are brilliant shops to pick up a bargain antique too.

I returned to the camp site after a thirty-year break. At first apprehensive about it having been taken over by Aquadis Loisirs from being a basic municipal site, I was pleased to see that it hadn’t changed much.
The pitches are generous and on part of the site they are separated by hedges. These could use a trim but they ensure a degree of privacy. In front of the reception building is an open camping space with hedges separating pitches which are near the main road. Avoid these if you can as it’s a noisy road until quite late in the evening. My advice would be to arrive before 7pm (when reception closes) turn right and find a pitch then walk back to reception to book in. Be prepared for a wait. It’s a slow process and everything you buy in the small shop is logged on the computer. I fail to see why they need to record the face that I bought an ice cream and a bottle of water! However, perhaps the well-known French love of bureaucracy comes into play here.
The town of Autun is well worth exploring, being rich in Roman history and much of their built heritage remains. Pop into the Augusto restaurant in the main square for the best croque monsieur you’ve ever had and quench your thirst with a good “pression”. Market days are Wednesdays and Fridays.

Great campsite in a great location. Easy walk into Autun & and to the Temple of Janus. Lovely big pitches with high hedges for privacy & nice, clean sanitary block. Very welcoming & friendly staff. Only negative was the large group of foreign workers who were wandering around the campsite shouting into their mobile phones.

This was the second time we have stayed at this campsite. Lovely campsite in a great location within walking distance of Autun and the Janus Temple, located near the river. Very friendly, welcoming and helpful staff, nice big pitches with hedges offering privacy, and very clean toilet and shower block.
Our only issue this time was there seemed to be a group of migrant workers staying in the cabins and they were very noisy on arrival back at the campsite and wandering around the campsite shouting into their mobile phones. We would still stay again though.

Lovely quiet campsite with lots of mature trees and well defined pitches with hedges. Pitches were large enough for our long motor home and the awning. Showers and toilets were very clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. Lots of cycle routes nearby and close to the ruins of the Roman temple of Janus. Worth a visit.
