Château de Chailly is French hospitality at its highest. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive, the rooms are spacious and have all the amenities you would expect: soft linen, a huge king size bed, towels and bathrobes to feel caressed by, and a bath fit enough for two! ;-)
And that is just the start. There is an outdoor heated swimming pool with gorgeous views over the golf course, a hammam and a jacuzzi, tennis courts, a great American bar with gorgeous rosemary gin cocktails amongst others.
You can easily book some wine tasting sessions in their cellar with a great choice of wines (this is the best wine region in the world after all! ), and the cuisine is some of the best I have ever sampled. There are two options for dining, a very elegant restaurant with all sort of seasonal choices, from oysters to turbot and scampi, and truffle dressed cheese to caramel filled apple on a thin delightful shortcut pastry, and more, and a less formal restaurant downstairs where you can have a more affordable (prices are affordable anyway for the quality you get at both restaurants) choice of one, two or three course dinner.
Breakfast is simply a feast of options, served everyday from 7 till 10, and on Sunday, (ideal for sleeping beauties like me), there is also the option to have brunch between 11.30 am and 3 pm; a must try!
I could go on and on, but to truly appreciate this place, you have to see it and try it for yourself.
Would I stay here again? That is definitely a big, fat YES!
