We had a wonderful week in the 2 bedroom gite, which was perfect for us as a family of four. Everything was beautifully kept and the apartment was excellently equipped, very spacious, and the beds are lovely and comfortable. Nigel & Valerie are so friendly and helpful and made us feel so welcome.
There is loads of information of places to visit in the local area, a brilliant laundry room, fantastic swimming pool area, plus gardens and games room. We definitely hope to return someday! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐😎
Had a great stay here, the property is beautiful and the gîte was clean, well maintained had all the amenities we needed. Particularly enjoyed the pool and availability of bicycles.
Valerie and Nigel were great hosts, friendly and easy going and, being French and English, were also able to help us plan our activities with ease.
So much to do in the area, we went canoeing, cycling, toured a distillery and visited the nearby historical cities of Saintes and Angoulême.
Thoroughly recommend a stay here.

Wow — what an amazing Yoga & Meditation Retreat we've just had at L'ancienne Distillerie. As hosts of the retreat, this venue offered us absolutely everything we could have wished for — and so much more. From the word go, Valerie and Nigel were extremely approachable and accommodating. They went out of their way to help ease the retreat preparations and anticipated not just big things but small things too (those small things that make all the difference). The accommodation was warm and welcoming the yoga room wonderful and the gardens magical. And while our yogis really enjoyed chilling out in the myriad little corners across the property, they also loved being able to take off around the vineyards on the complimentary bikes! We also much appreciated the homemade treats and garden produce. It was a 5 star experience from start to finish and looking forward already to next time…
