Read other reviews first. Interesting take, varied opinions. Our friends that live nearby often have their family stay here, recommend for us. Okay so we took a chance. Normally 4 star and above type people. First night was in older section — abominable — not good. My goodness horrible.
Friends then got us to the suite in the new section. Like night and day. Nice room, two bedrooms actually. Comfortable beds. It's late summer end of September, temps good. Clean quiet fine.
Negatives.
1. Only one dinky little garbage bin.
2. Shower — no shelf for personal items, and WATCH OUT! slippery as heck. Easy to fall.
3. No English. We cannot speak French. Using Google translate, then fine.
Staff to us are friendly. Haven't experienced negativity.
When visiting our friends again, we'll stay here, at least in this room for sure.
Poor experience.
Staff (owner) coming into the the room tree times during our stay (3 days) without knocking and unapologetically.

I had the unpleasant feeling that they don’t want guest in this hotel. I didn’t feel welcome at all.
The room is small and old and ugly.

Upon arrival I was told the restaurant is shut on Sunday and Tuesday evening. I asked about lunchtime and they said even though I'm a paying guest they're fully booked. The reception isn't 27/7 and most of the time it's unmanned with the lights of in the restaurant and bar.
I got to my room and noticed there are no drink making facilities or complimentary drinking water. The 1st floor was also being renovated.
The breakfast was very sparing and very limited choice, cheese, French loaf, salami, ham or a boiled egg. All food choices were cold with no hot food on offer.
I had to find alternate food choices during my stay which soon resorted to the Doner Kebab shop next door, this was not my impression of fine French cuisine. I will avoid this hotel and area in the future.
