A restaurant experience in the heart of the countryside and very well placed. The boss and staff are exceptional.

The owner is a thief! I booked a room via Booking. Arriving no one at the front desk. A few minutes later the boss arrives gives me the key. I access the room that I do not like because tiny (for 105) and border of national. I tell the boss that I don't like it and that I want to leave. He tells me I have to cancel on Booking what I do of course. I ask him if there will be a fee because otherwise I stay. He assures me several times that he will not tell me any expenses. I leave and I find the next day that he has cashed in the room despite his words. I call him and there he completely changes version and tells me that he never said that and refuses to refund the 105 (knowing that the hotel was complaced). This man is a liar and a point thief. I don't recommend it. The Alsace regeorge of charming hotels and better located than on the edge of a national with strong passage and rooms too small for this rate.

A pleasant and aesthetic family boutique hotel, an amazing landscaped pool, meticulous breakfasts, and in the evening a quality chef's restaurant … and most importantly the personal and warm service …

The rooms are nice to see romantic, but I would comment especially on the restaurant that would deserve several Michelin stars, I have never eaten snails as delicious as here, so good that I regretted not having taken that half a dozen, lamb mouse of an incredible fondant, I'm not talking about prawns, supreme poultry and other dish.
I dine in several renowned Parisian restaurants and the cuisine of the Illwad and greatly superior to many of them.
I really recommend it.

The staff made everything possible to make our stay nice and enjoyable. A few minor issues (shower, heater) but for me it's the service and the attitude that counts.

Original and Quality cuisine! A welcome always perfect and pleasant. The terrace in summer is a plus, it's a pleasure every time!

Very good time spent in family setting and staff chic and warm the child meal at €10, it is a real meal (not knacks and fries) presentation worthy of the great restaurants. A great opportunity for children to discover gastronomy.

We stayed for a family party with sixteen people at the Hotel de l ' Illwald. The rooms are new, very generous and the whole farmyard are remarkably beautiful. The food is excellent and also the service is very good. The prices are for Swiss relations in the Middle Range. The reservation could be done by e-mail in german, which was very pleasant. Except for a small misunderstanding regarding the dining room, everything went to our full Satisfaction. The Five star rating is deserved! At the Hotel de l ' Illwald we were not for the last Time.

The place is beautiful in a warm setting, except for the departmental road which is just next door which generates far too much noise, especially when the windows are open in summer, in addition to the mosquitoes that invade you. Poor reception, the staff does not take into account your requests especially if one complains of a problem… never again!

After 45 min We had the entrance a not warm welcome I am very disappointed, pity because the setting is beautiful, a place where I would not go again it is safe.

Lovely country location, quite easy to find! Fantastic room (we have the largest, on the top floor of 3) and there's one below us that has a balcony with a table. Breakfast is included and was freshly served to us from a lovely helper… we also enjoyed sitting in their bar before bedtime!

Gorgeous, family-owned "villa-turned-into-a-hotel"! With a lovely provincial sort of breakfast arrangement. Managed by lovely people. And with two really friendly dogs. Unfortunately, during my two-night stay there, the restaurant was closed as the staff were on leave. So we ended up driving to Sélestat for our supper.

A beautiful nest in the heart of Alsace, located in the countryside, it offers tranquillity without losing sight of style and good taste in décor that restaurant. Great staff.

The boss is lovely.
My room no. 4 sublime! I was afraid the antiquated Alsatian sets… I had a very spacious room decorated with great care. With a very large bathroom! This isn't a room is a studio! The hostel! It is the son who holds the kitchen boy has crazy talent! Pure happiness!
I met a chef 3 stars with his wife is telling you…
My conclusion don't spend in Alsace without stopping at the hotel of the ILLWALD
The only downside there is no lift to access the rooms… The first day with luggage it is a bit of sport but good!

Large and modern rooms — very nice… the only thing: it's in the middle of nowhere. ;) But a good starting point for sightseeing in the surrounding area.
