Villa Sibbe in Q&A

Information is provided based on reviews and may contain inaccuracies.

Where is Villa Sibbe located and what is nearby?

The villa is conveniently situated along the road between Helsinki and Porvoo as part of the Joensuu Manor estate. In the immediate vicinity, the first golf hole is just 30 meters from the door, the waterfront and mini-golf are a 3-minute walk away, and a grocery store is reachable within a 5-minute drive. The estate grounds also feature a campsite, a marina, a café, and a disc golf course. Guests frequently praise the idyllic scenery and beautiful natural surroundings with mature oak trees.

How polite and responsive is the staff?

The staff is described as exceptionally friendly, cheerful, polite, and helpful. Many guests rate the service 10 out of 10, highlighting excellent service both in the accommodations and at the café. However, one guest was extremely dissatisfied, characterizing the service as terrible due to issues with food orders and lost reservations for rental equipment.

What breakfast and dining options are offered at Villa Sibbe?

Reviews regarding breakfast are mixed: some guests describe it as very diverse and among the best they have seen, while others noted that breakfast was unavailable or that bread was charged separately. The café receives praise for its delicious salmon soup with sea kale and traditional pastries. Guests also mention the option to order a full three-course dinner, which received very positive feedback. However, one visitor felt that a 5-euro hot dog was poor value for money.

What is the condition of the rooms and the level of comfort at Villa Sibbe?

The rooms are characterized as clean, spacious, and quiet with good soundproofing. Guests appreciate the comfortable, soft beds and functional bathrooms with spacious walk-in showers. However, please note that the property is an old wooden building, and a damp, musty odor may be noticeable in certain areas of the ground floor. Some visitors consider the value for money to be unsatisfactory, as simple rooms without breakfast are offered at a relatively high rate.

Is Wi-Fi and other amenities available in the rooms?

A stable Wi-Fi connection is available in the rooms. Guests have access to a shared kitchen equipped with a refrigerator. Some rooms also feature additional daybeds for children, which are provided free of charge.

What entertainment and activities are available on the property?

Guests can enjoy a disc golf course that begins right in the courtyard or visit the man-made swimming pond. In winter, an excellent sledding hill is available on the grounds. The estate also hosts group activities, including yoga sessions in the adjacent forest.
