What an interesting idea for transforming a prison into a hotel! Unexpectedly quite cozy although we did find the hallways a bit ‘institutional.

Clean hotel, friendly staff, spacious rooms. The bed was really comfy, slept so well.

There are not a lot of hotels in Turku, and I’m guessing many stay down near the docks to board the ferries. We chose this hotel as it seemed to be rated amongst the best.

One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed. The room, bathroom and hallway were very clean. There was shower gel, shampoo and conditioner to use.

Clean and spacious room with easy access to restaurants, grocery, shopping, and transportation (buses). The only minor issue I had was with the automatic lights in the bathroom.

A hotel weirdly placed in/adjacent to a shopping centre — but excellent rooms!

I had a family trip with my spouse, a toddler and a baby. We had an amazing time.

Child friendly with a playroom by the reception/breakfast room, and kids telly on there in the morning. We were on the first floor, which was the same as the sauna and gym which was good.

It was good experience.
Location is so wonderful. They lady at the reception was so kind.

I have been staying in this hotel during a business trip, The hotel is in a good place near to the city center, the stuff is helpfull and the rooms is clean.

Lovely little hotel. A single room including breakfast is only approx 57 euros. I always stay there if I surface travel from Germany to Finland.

The apartments are on 3 floors and there is no lift. Breakfast is served in the top floor.

Tapulitalo is a gem. Susanna keeps a hostel which deserves to be classed as a hotel, but really is closer to a home. Profoundly comfortable in a properly Finnish way. Highly recommended.

This place is great. No other way to say it. It’s a “self service” guesthouse and it worked out perfectly for me while I was visiting Turku.

My high rating is based on my expectations: I knew that this is an old, historic ship which is also part of a maritime museum. You're basically staying in a museum there.

Great family owned small hotel in a beautiful building and nice neighbourhood!

I was really amused and laughing a lot. The reception is actually in a hamburger restaurant which means that you can have a meal while waiting for the check-in.

We booked through Booking and found it difficult to find, a local explained that the reason is we had the address in Swedish when the map had the street names in Finnish.
