Amateurs at running a hotel, it is clear that the owners have never had any actual experience before opening up their own. To call a 'community centre' a resort, when the halls smell like hospital, the 'lobby and reception area' is a mess, the cleaning is sub par and the staff's communicational skills bad enough for us to be stranded outside for ten minutes looking for the night entrance (as the community learning centre closes at 4pm and then so does the "hotel" reception) a…nd then having the owner blame us for not understanding the poor and misguided directions the afternoon receptionist had given us, as well as shutting our room door FOUR times in my face, explaining that the key doesn't work for angry people (?! ), when I couldn't get into our room. Treating paying guests like that, only gets really bad reviews. I was already tired and frustrated for not finding the entrance as to the directions given us, now I was being yelled at? No wonder I was angry… The Winter House "Hotel" is pretending to be something that it's not and is lying several places in its description. If this place is a 'resort', then so is the YMCA, they at least have more toiletries available for people staying there and also provide access to a communal pool. They should at best call themselves a hostel or a Bed & Breakfast. They do not live up to any legitimate hotel standards. It's cheap for a reason.
