Postmaster Hotel

The hotel is truly beautiful, with very modern and stylish rooms. We were told the hotel is only about two years old, and it really shows – everything feels fresh, newly renovated, and very well maintained.
What makes it especially charming is that the hotel is located in a former post office building. The renovation was done with great attention to detail, preserving a lot of character while combining it with a sleek, modern design.
The rooms are not only lovely but also very practical, as they include two small integrated stovetops and a microwave, which is a great extra, especially for longer stays.
A real highlight of our stay was the service, especially Pepe, the incredibly kind and fun waiter from Czech Republic. He made every dinner enjoyable with a great sense of humor.

Convenient location 5 mins walk to railway station and 2 mins to bus station in rovaneimi, newly done up nice rooms all have kitchenette supermarket 5 mins walk, rovaneimi towncentre about 15 mins walk, they offer full snow overalls including shoes and gloves for 45 euro a day. And have nice breakfast, onsite restaurant has good food for dinner and reasonably priced better then going to town just for dinner. They have only one staff at reception who does all the work so response to queries is slow. We booked a room with sauna but the sauna door was stuck and would not open and could not use. Staff at reception was not able to help. Room heating was not working at all, staff gave us an external heater which worked well. There is no Bidet in bathroom which is a surprise as we have found it everywhere in Finland so far, that was a bit disappointing. These small infrastructure issues need to be resolved. Lif tis old style which needs both doors to be closed and guests were continuously leaving the doors open which was pain for staff as well. They can I install a automatic voice to remind people. They have tours for all activities available onsite which is a huge advantage. They had a pin code to access the rooms and main entrance after hours which was cool, no need to worry nad carry a key card.

The hotel is perfectly positioned near the train station. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable.
Just a shame the lightning in the bathroom wasn't suitable for putting on makeup.

We stayed at the Postmaster for two nights and absolutely loved it. The location is fantastic, you can literally walk into the city in 5-10 mins, which made getting around so easy and convenient. The rooms are big, comfortable, and well laid out, giving you plenty of space to relax after a day of exploring. We also stayed here last year, and loved it just as much this time, which really says it all.
A great place to stay in Lapland with an excellent location. We would happily return again and highly recommend it.

I can't say enough good things about the Postmaster Hotel. We recently visited Rovaniemi in December of 2025. We weren't guests but we did use their luggage storage facility when we arrived and departed the city. The staff were very helpful and friendly. They even assisted us in calling for a taxi. Their location is very convenient as the hotel is within walking distance from the bus and train stations. Their service and hospitality was greatly appreciated especially during the Christmas holiday when there were limited options available.

Walking distance to the train station, easy when coming by train to leave the luggage and go by bus to the SCV, as the stop is nearby. Big room and couch was already ready (bed made) for our 5 years old son. The biggest asset is the kitchen, which is great value for money if you stay longer. I loved the fact that the bathroom had heated floor. Breakfest is not their biggest asset, but is managable. I recommned, especialy during weekend when it is crowded, to have a longer schedule, instead of 8-10. Could work 7.30-10.30. We also liked the lobby, where you can find a small shop for last minute gifts if you didn't had time to do it in the city center or at SCVs shops. Overall it is a good choice for more than two nights stay.

Great value for money.
Breakfast was great for the price, with fresh orange juice and fine selection. Room was cheap and very big with sofa, kitchen, large beds and smart TV. It was only a ten minute walk from city center and staff was friendly and helpful.

Located right next to the train station, so super convenient. The town was a short 15-min walk away. Rooms were big and the interior was gorgeous. Bed felt like a cloud, probably most comfortable bed I’ve slept in. Staff were also lovely and breakfast buffet had plenty of good options.

We has a large room on 4th floor. Excellent kitchen. We did not cook anything, just tea and warming food in microwave.
The A/C did not work whilst we were there. We were offered a fan.

I love this hotel, staffs are nice, breakfast is delicious, love the fresh squeezed orange juice! My room was extremely nice as you can see from my photos, highly recommended getting this room! It is so comfy, and you have your own sauna! Their elevator is so cool that I didn't know how to function it, very old style! Video is includes :)

We stayed here just after it reopened in December. Its a real gem close to the town and its amenities. We loved having the little kitchen in the room as we were travelling with kids this was a big help. Room size was great and ideal for 2 adults and 2 kids. The vintage lift was very cool! We arrived late and the instructions for access were texted to us and we have no issues getting it. The breakfast selection isnt huge but its ideal and there was something for all of us. There is a Stay Lapland desk at reception making booking tours and arranging collections seamless. All in all a great stay and would recommend as a hotel for families.

Both my partner and myself recently returned from a trip to Lapland, we stayed in the Grand Post Hotel, and were pleasantly surprised to find out that the hotel was owned by StayLapland, who are a company that organise and run a lot of different activities around Rovaniemi.
Through StayLapland, we were able to arrange 4 different tours, which we could not be more happier with! Booking everything through the hotel and Stay Lapland made the whole process and stay simple and easy.
The hotel itself was incredible! The staff were happy to help at any chance they had and provided a lot of information to us. It is surprising to know that the hotel opened around a month ago — the hotel is extremely spacious and looks amazing.
Our room had a sauna in the bathroom, which was a lovely surprise. In addition, our room had all the amenities that we needed.
We struggled to get out of bed every morning, as the bed was one of the comfiest nights sleep that either of us have ever had.
Our stay came with bed and breakfast. The food was very delicious and we were able to enjoy our mornings in peace and great tasting food.
