Great food, lovely hotel & friendly staff.
Clean, functional room, very friendly staff, good breakfast selection including tasty local specialities. However, it appears that at least some rooms (I had economy twin) do not have air conditioning, and leaving the window open was not really an option as the local moped kids drove their circuit right outside the street-facing room. Additionally, the windows were towards east, and the curtains were too thin to block sunlight properly. Combined with the rather high latitude, this means that the room is rather bright starting quite early (as in, 3 am onwards) in the morning especially during the summer. Still, it is very hard to beat the convenience of the location smack between the railway and bus stations and the city centre across the river.

We stayed at Original Sokos Hotel Kimmel last week (end of January 2023). My mother, husband and baby boy. The room was a junior suite, very spacious and had a lovely capsule coffee machine and a mini fridge. Brilliant room decor. The only fault in it was that the toilet can only be reached through the main room. So other people sleeping in the suite need to go through the main bedroom, which is not ideal at night if you need the toilet. Breakfast had good variety, dietary requirements were catered for and drinks selection was great. We used the spa facilities. The pool area was very relaxing, tranquil and tidy. Layout is simple and easy. Saunas and storm showers are lovely. Thoughtful detail is a drinking water station close to the sauna. There is also a spa bar through reception. Purchases go to your room charge and drinks come to you, easy peasy. Overall a lovely stay and I would recommend! :)
