We loved everything. The staff are beautiful, the food is incredible and the diving is amazing.

Very quiet hotel with clean Buren. The staff is a warm and cares for the physical Well-being. The food is abundant, there is a Pool with spring water and a diving base. This has speed v. For example, A very nice aluminum boat with plenty of space to Relax between the dives. The dive sites are within 50 Min. To reach the boat. The Hotel also offers kayak and Stand up Paddle rental. Optional visit to a nearby village by boat. The best way is to ask the staff if a visit is possible. In addition, there is a small Spa-area, filtered water to Drink and a small Bar. Who likes to dive and at the same time a quiet secluded spot in Fiji looking for, is here exactly correct. Highly recommended.

We travelled around the world and we are very active and high pace travellers. When we booked at Mativa, our first concern was what are we going to do in the resort for the next 7 nights and 8 days.
As soon as I arrived at the resort, my worries were gone. Staff greeted us with a big smile which ease our mind. The staff were very friendly, helpful and smiling all the time from the day we arrive till the day we left. Our Bangalore, Raiwasa means Oceanview in Fijian, was lo…cated in the middle of the hill with the best ocean view from our veranda. It was so good I do not know how to describe the view. It was simply beautiful and magnificent.
The room was big and clean. It was like our little paradise. We were notified the meal time with the drum. The sound of drum echoed through the resort. The meals were tasty and atmosphere were wonderful. Some nights we had a meal on the deck in front of the beach under the stars and the moon. It was magical. We had so many activities. We went fishing, snorkelling, swimming in their new pool and we even went out to watch the sunset in the boat. It was spectacular. I will never forget the experience. The heritage reef in front of the resort is some of the best snorkelling and best walk when low tide. We also went to visit the local waterfall. I took a slow-motion video of children so young jumping from the top of the cliff into the water. They were so brave and free.

A one of a kind resort. Amazing staff to accomodate you and every little thing catered for. We stayed for 7 days, fished for 3 dived for one and snorkelled the rest. Anything you want to do can be done! The resort is peaceful and very accommodating! The scenery is amazing and so pristine, not many boats or traffic at all while there is no roads in or out there is nothing needed. Perfect holiday perfect location! We will be back!

Stayed here for 19 nights — left my phones and other devices at home… spent my time diving, snorkelling (the coral looked like something out of National Geographic), fishing, visiting the local village (and the stunning waterfall in the village), paddle boarding over to Waya island and hanging out on the beach, reading my book and making new friends (other guests, Mark (owner) and his kids, and the staff) … I literally haven’t felt this relaxed in years. I’m planning on going back for another week or so, in 6 months. As a busy professional who operates my own business, getting back to basics, having complete “shut down” and no contact to the rest of the world + hanging out in such a naturally beautiful and untouched part of the world… well, I think this is going to become a regular holiday destination ~ I think Matava is a necessity for me now Thanks to Mark, Luke, Talia, Jack and Jo for being amazing hosts and tour guides (special shout out to Jo for your expert tours to the village and waterfall) … see you again real soon!

Had a great time at Matava Untouched. Got some great waves at Soso Passage. Amazing diving and snorkelling on the reef. Accommodation is big and comfy with stunning views. The food is delicious and great to hang out with other guests. Staff are beautiful, friendly and so helpful. Can't wait to get back.

We loved our stay at Matava! For those who want to go a little further, away from the typical resort experience, this place was perfect. The location so close to the amazing Astrolabe reef, local villages, rare endemic birdlife, and other stunning Fijian landscapes led to a hands on appreciation of what Kadavu Island has to offer. The accomodation is eco focussed, clean and very comfortable. Meals were excellent and predominantly sourced from the garden at the resort. Sharing meals and stories at the long table with so many great people from around the world was one of many highlights. The staff are outstanding; treating every guest like family. The hospitality and all day smiles makes this resort the most warm and welcoming place we have visited in Fiji.

Great resort and wonderful dive shop!

— dirty room — poor water amount coming from showers — holes in the room walls — holes in the mosquito net — insufficient light in the room — no furniture on the balcony — limited electricity in the room — no sanitary products — no possibility of drying hair — no Wi-Fi available (even with payment! it was not working) — no food choice — no beach — unlimited diving would have been useless with local conditions.

What a peaceful and quiet place! Lovely, friendly and helpful people. And diving in that healthy coral reef would be worth even six stars. If going back to Fiji: this will be the place.

Awesome awesome place. Fantastic people — the staff really make it such a great experience. Beautiful food. World class diving. Can't praise Matava enough — we will be back!

Great adveture getting to the resort (Flight from Nadi and amazing boat road to resort). The rooms were wonderful with stunning views. Incredibly friendly and accommodating staff. Water activities were wow. Overall we can not wait to go back!

We left Matava just a few days ago after a quick 2-night getaway while our family was in Denarau. Being the only guests on property, we were well taken care of! The chef cooked us amazing meals both night and day, Sala and Maggie were wonderful and generous hosts, Skelley and Iso and the whole boat/dive crew was fabulous. We can't wait to share our pictures with our friends and hopefully return to Matava for a longer stay in the future!

We had a beautiful stay for our honeymoon. The staff was exceptional and very accommodating. We felt welcomed and relaxed cut off from the rest of the world with a beautiful view. We spent two days fishing and caught some great sized fish. Thank you for a wonderful week!

Matava was the most pure, relaxing, and inclusive experience I've ever had
The staff was excellent, the food is all organic and fresh, the resort is very basic, neat, comfortable, and open.
The Diving is incredible, the corals are pristine and happy, not a lot of reefs like that left, then sharks, mantas, banded snakes oh my!
Is hard to explain, but everything from the boat ride to the fresh flower arrangements every day was fantastic.
We got to go to the village to swim the cascade and play with the kids, don't stop at the first one, keep swimming, it get better!

Not enough stars to rate this small resort. The food, the coral reefs, the staff are all great.
