Amazing place to stay with the locals :) We had our own seperate room, but had breakfast with the hosts. Such an amazing people! Had so many wonderful and insightful confersations! And Simpa the cat kept us company, we felt like home! 💛😽

Absolutely amazing stay at Lilja's family home, easily one of my most memorable and favorite stays in my 30 years of travels. The location, the home, the room, the meals (definitely do the dinner if offered), the conversations, insight into Faroese life, history, and culture, and even the after dinner and pre breakfast swims in the hide tide, and be greeted by her cat when we got back.

VisitHomes in Leirvík is a wonderful “base camp” for exploring the Faroe Islands while staying with locals.
Lilja is such a nice host. The rooms are cozy and have everything you need. Every morning there is a delicious breakfast with homemade bread and Faroe specialties. You sit with all the international guests at a large table and can have very interesting conversations and give each other tips.
On some evenings, you can book a delicious 3-course Faroese dinner.
All attractions are very easy and quick to reach from here. The distances are not far. I even saw the Northern Lights from my window on May 2.
Lilja gives good tips for great activities and lots of information about her country and its traditions. She gives advice on what to bear in mind, especially with the constantly changing weather, and how to get back safely or when not to go out at all. She takes excellent care of all her guests!
I had a single room with a shared bathroom and stayed there for the second time this year in April/May for 17 nights.

Nice and comfortable room, parking in frint of the house. Bathroom is shared downstairs, but very nice and big. Lilja was really friendly and helpful, she prepared an amazing breakfast with a lot of local and homemade food.
And you can meet Simba as an extra 😺

The room was bright, beautiful and cozy. In the morning a rich breakfast, with daily changing local specialties — and interesting conversations. Lilja has lots of tips and you can learn a lot about the people and life of Faroe from her. The time was very relaxed and without this great accommodation we would definitely have missed something. One hundred percent recommendable — all possible stars!

The apartment is in a nice and quiet location, with parking in front of the house. The host Lilja is amazing, ready to provide helpful tips, and prepares amazing breakfasts. In walking distance, you can find ruins of a viking farmhouse.

Definately a great place to stay in the Faroe Islands. The hostess Lilja is such a friendly, kind and sweet person. I would recommend this place to stay when you visit the Faroer Islands. The location is central, both south and north can be reached within an hour.
Oh, and breakfast was included and very delightsome, with fresh self made bread and products from own garden or originally from the islands.

Dishonest. Pretend bank transaction issues to cancel the reservation and rebook it at a higher rate. Although the reservation was renewed and the amount was charged, the establishment persists in making it appear that there are transaction problems. On arrival the room absolutely did not correspond to the description.

Whatever I write will not be enough. Extremely nice and kind hostess. Made me feel like I am home. I didn't take advantage of the breakfast due to my early departure every morning but she made me a lunch pack everytime. She was very pleasant to talk to. Very nice and clean place. Close to the bus station. It's worth the price. One of my greatest experience ever!

I would highly recommend a stay here! The accommodations were wonderful and very welcoming. The room (outer, with private bath) as clean, cozy, and exactly where I wanted to relax after a long day of hiking. The owner was an incredible host who was quick to give tips, share a story, and make you feel at home. If I am lucky enough to come back to the Faroe Islands again, I will stay here. The central location was great for exploring the North Islands and Eysturoy and there were several dinner options nearby.
Visitors: couple, leisure travel, mid-30s, arrived via rental car.

We had a two night stay with Lilja over Easter. Lilja a lovely and welcoming host, super informative, knowledgeable and very engaging about the Faroe Islands. It was like being at home with family and a lovely cat.
We stayed in the annex, which was the Deluxe Double Room with Shower Room. The room was quite large, with a separate bathroom that included a shower and a jazzuzi bath. The walk in shower had a waterfall and hand held attachment. The pressure was maybe a bit too high for the waterfall, so its best to watch the potential for overflow.
Breakfast was generous, with coffee, juice, homemade bread, jams, cheese, meats, including a fish sausage. It was all delicious and there were different things to try each morning.
We joined the Dinner Experience Tuesday (“Heimablídni”) with another guest. Dinner was a generous helping of fresh steamed cod with lemon sauce, potatoes and vegetables followed by rhubarb ice cream and coffee.
The location is quiet and homely, nestled in a small community street in Leirvik with parking space out front. Its a great location to explore the Northern Faro Islands and only a short tunnel drive to Klaksvik. We highly recommend a stay with Lilja at visitHOMES Faroe Islands, who will treat you like part of the family.

We had the most delightful stay at visitHomes, a charming part of a family home converted into a guesthouse. The owner is an incredibly warm and welcoming hostess. She prepared delicious breakfasts for us each morning, making sure we started our day right. Staying at visitHomes truly feels like a home away from home. The location is serene and peaceful, with a beautiful view of the bay. Plus, the complimentary Wi-Fi in the rooms was a handy feature.

Amazing hosts and amazing location. Lilja is a perfect person to stay with, she makes breakfast from scratch every morning for her guests, joins in on conversation and is such a wonderful character.
The room was cozy, comfortable and a great size with some really nice decor. The location is perfect, right in the middle of the islands so you can get around very easily. Would highly recommend!
