Clean basic well priced accommodation in a convenient location. It's an old building with wooden floors so you if you are close to reception you can hear people coming and going but I don't find that a problem. The management and staff are faultlessly polite and helpful. I have stayed here 4 times so far.

I have always recommended the Pensioners Roma to all visitors to Cairo. It is located on the fourth and fifth floor of a downtown Cairo building with about thirty rooms some with bathrooms and others without. The light is dubious as the place is surrounded by buildings of the same heights, the entrance, the street, and the elevator might scare you off but you must continue up to the pension which is lovely and clean and very reasonable for foreigners. The people that stay here are a million times more interesting than most hotels in Cairo, intellectuals, backpackers, lonely planet types. Do stay.
