The treatment of the staff is very baaaaaaaad and unfortunately the price is manipulative.

I did a reservation from Booking. Com, and it was confirmed! Yet they told me it's all booked and no rooms available! And tried to get me an upgrade with more than triple the charges.
And they dont respond to there number at all!
Unbelievable place and unprofessional at all!

The Curtan is very old with dust
The light mostly not enough special in the bathroom
The refrigerator is not working
No TV
The bed is consist of some roofs
I spent one nightmare and left.

Do not go there at any cost.
It's nothing like the photos, not even close.
I stayed in their so called "Budget room"
and I swear it would've been more decent and humane if I spent the night wandering in the streets.
I couldn't stand it for more than 40 minutes before I checked out, non caring about the paid money.
I have been to hotels in the UK, KSA and Egypt, never have I ever witnessed such a bad place.
I even went to hostels that were far better than this so called hotel. What went wrong? You name it. Lousy uncaring reception

Dirty room
Broken conditioner (so instead of fixing it, just offer it at a lower price and call the room "budget")
No fridge
No TV
No electricity outlets! You can't even charge your mobile!
No Wifi
No bathroom light (it was there. But broken)
The shower it self is also broken (literally. Into pieces)
The water heater jack is located near the shower! It's a disaster! An accident waiting to happen!
No toiletries
No towels
No slippers
No hangers in closet
…
And that's only what I managed to notice during my 40 minute stay there before I fled this ugly place forever.

Worst place I ever seen to be honest. I can't describe how bad was my experience in this hotel.
I reserved a room for 2 nights :
No TV
No Fan
No hot water
Shredded curtain
Filthy floor
Filthy toilet
Leaking in the toilet
Okay and the last bad point is that there is no place to charge even my phone!
I really hated this place!

Hotel pictures are far away from reality; being old and dirty and unacceptable and inhumane
Dirty and broken room furniture and dirty smell and place, broken taps
not only dirty bed sheets and carpet and torn blanket, unhelpful untruthful crew at reception
The rotten smell every where, broken door lock
Afraid all night from any one break in and steal my money
It is inhumane, not worth a minus star hotel even or worth 10 pounds to be paid!
Awful hotel I have ever seen regardless, it can be used as a hotel for homeless people.

Dirty and filthy place to stay in, rooms are very dirty and smelly! The staff are very rude and they opened my bags and stole valuable items! When I asked them to review the camera they claimed that they don’t have the key for the control room.
It ended up in the police station filling a report against them.
New Garden Palace hotel is a place to avoid!

You get what you pay for, kind of… Although staff is friendly and helpful, the rooms really need to be renovated or updated. The carpeting and walls are lackluster, AC's work but are pretty ancient. Rooftop is a really nice spot for a coffee or beer, but ask for the menu or pricing before ordering, some staff are known for overcharging and pocketing the extra. It's a budget travellers hotel, in a good central location, but you can find better for this price range. They do allow pets, which is a plus!

Bad and dirty place. The hotel manager ptetend not having payed by credit card and asked me to repay in cash befote having key. Dont go there you waist your time.

Car park is a total scam, the valet is impolite. He asked for my car keys, when I said no he said then no parking for you. I paid for the park service (L. E 30) /day and car keys are off-limit. No running water till you ask for it (they said we have plumbing issues that would be solved REAL soon. Liars! Rooms are highly over priced.

The SHW hotel is therefore cheaper.

Worst ever, wouldn't do it again. The place is totally embarrassing, dark, old, & very dirty.

Creepy. Customer service at the reception is terrible. Refused to show me the rooms I booked because "you have seen them on the website"… what logic is that? Am I not allowed to choose the room I'll be staying in for the next three months?!

Mo'men (manager) and the staff (Ahmed and Magdy) called me crazy and told me they will put me in prison and hang me! because I asked for a refund after I saw the FILTHY, DIRTY ROOMS. Full of cockroaches, dirty, stained bedding and carpet, dirty towels, no soap, no heater or air conditioner. They have no respect for customers! If you pay them you will not get your money back unless YOU CALL THE POLICE. They are greedy liars. All the pictures you see of the rooms are fake. All the rooms are dirty and the staff does not care about the customers or the hotel! The staff should be in prison for stealing my money! Especially the manager (Mo'men).

Visit in the autumn of 2010: non-Western standards of cleanliness. Toilet cleaned only the glasses, hair in the bed linen from its predecessor, carpet for years, if not obviously never cleaned. TV defect, toilet paper is not populated. Non-waterproof lamp in the shower… No visit is worth A la carte kitchen edible, but — breakfast was pitiful. After a week, I went out and rented a flat a few minutes walk away.

Stayed 3 nights 9-12/10/14. The place was dark and gloomy and very back dated. Staff were unpleasant except for the old security man who did smile and make conversation. Hotel is on a one way road so taxis are unable to drop off and it is a long walk from tahrir sq. Electricity cut out at night n we got it back the next day after a few complaints. Ants crawling in all over the place. And the list goes on. Overall a very unpleasant stay.

Awesome place, great experience. The one weird thing is the key. The front desk holds in when you leave (24 hrs, thankfully), and it's attached to this plastic thing a little thinner than a deck of cards that you put in a slot on the wall for your electricity, including your AC.
