+ Rooms very neat, showers very nice and hot water was available. The breakfast was very good and had a wide range of both English, Australian, Egyptian, Japanese foods and is very decent overall -there were no lifts in this hotel whatsoever and has enough floors to need a lift, (but with all the money they will roll in they will eventually! ) Overall very good.
Decent rooms with a good breakfast (they can also box one up for you if you're doing the early morning trip to Abu Simbel). The best part was the hospitality — the ladies at the front desk are extremely nice and they even let me stay in my room after officially checking out because I had a late afternoon flight back to Cairo.

We were very lucky with our Egyptian Hotels. They were all our sanctuaries over our holiday. Despite Winter Palace Luxor being so high quality I think my favourite may have been the Philae Hotel. This quaint hotel really had character but best of all the staff were all absolutely phenomenal. Sadly I didn't catch everyone's names but Mohamed Boshra was the stand-out. We had a great chat and he was very helpful in locating some good places to eat among other things. The tours and such we received from this hotel were also all good. The room was simple but more than serviceable. Everything was solid and suited its purpose… best of all though was the unique window into the shower… Great for couples though perhaps a bit odd for those not so inclined!
