My family of four (husband, 11 year old and 15 year old daughter) had a blast at Colonial Majestic! We were scared to go somewhere unknown, and all inclusive resorts can be iffy. This one was amazing. Samuel at the buffet was great, and Pedro at Le Gormet made our stay so special! They even put a Happy Birthday door banner on our door for my daughter on her birthday to wake up to. Mostly good food, great service, beautiful beach, pools, rooms are beautiful, and very good for the value. We will go back for sure!

The service at the hotel was great. All employees are friendly and make you feel welcome. They have multiple bars around the resort with many options. There is also a good variety of restaurants with many options. Our room was well taken care of and, besides the shower, it was really up to date. I had booked a room in the family side of the resort because it was cheaper, but when I checked-in, they upgraded us to the adult side for no extra cost. The Casino at the resort was a great place to visit, as well as all the live events that they have each night. There is a fast food restaurant open all night, which was a great resource to have late at night. They have a sports bar that allowed us to stay up to date with the world cup games while having a drink. And if you want to stay fit while in vacation, they have a really nice small gym available as well. Would book again if I visit to Punta Cana in the future.

The Majestic Colonial has a very spring break vibe to it. If you want to party hard, this is a fantastic destination — swim up bars, stocked mini bars, food at any time of the day or night. Upon arrival, they took our two carry on bags and someone else took us on a tour of the property. Once we got into our room, our bags weren’t there. We had to ask 6 different employees several times for our bags and it was infuriating. We couldn’t change into a swim suit, we were hot and exhausted from traveling and had to wait almost 2 hours for our bags. Several other people in our group experienced the same treatment. This certainly set the tone. Our room (#3122) was not thoroughly cleaned upon our arrival (there was plenty of hair in the shower and the floors hadn’t been swept, much less mopped). Several items were in disrepair and falling apart (hand held shower detachment, toilet paper holder, etc) and it lent for a gross feel overall. It’s also a corner room and we could hear EVERYTHING all night. The air conditioner was adequate and shower pressure was fine, though it didn’t drain properly and held 2 inches of water during the shower that took almost 2 hours to drain — YUCK. The pillows and bed were awful and we left with aching necks and backs. The food was very tasty and plentiful — no complaints there at all. The employees were polite but didn’t have that special enthusiasm that we have experienced at other resorts in the Caribbean.

Currently sitting in the lobby of Majestic Colonial on the phone with my booking agency. Our reservation confirmation clearly says ‘Majestic Colonial Club’ plain as day. Rude front desk staff hands us a key to a regular room on the family side and forces us to call the travel agency and have them call the reservations department to make any changes. Now on hold waiting for 30 minutes and counting, waiting for them to confirm our booking with the hotel. The agency said it is written in the system as ‘Majestic Colonial Club’. No clue who is lying, but the fact is we paid extra for the club side. Horrible customer service, and we haven’t even started the trip. Obviously this will be the last time staying here, and we’ve been loyal to this hotel each time we’ve visited the Dominican Republic.

The hotel needs renovations. The food is OK without more. The beach and many others have been invaded by the seaweed of Sargasso to the point that it is no longer bathable.

Five stars isn’t enough to express how great this resort is! We loved every minute of it! The staff is AMAZING. Everyone is so friendly and is always there to help! The different activities they offer were great too! We were never bored. Food was good at almost all of the restaurants. We LOVED the Japanese grill restaurant! Beach is BEAUTIFUL. Ramon was one of the entertainers and he was the best! Talked to us everyday and always made sure we were enjoying every second of our vacation!

The location is amazing. Great entertainment. Best food is Sea by Sea lunch. Staff are amazing. Drinks are delicious. Room was great besides water pressure and temperature issues. Running toilet was annoying. Good gym. The Elegance club was the way to go. Pool lounge chairs always available. Beach beds always available. Plenty of shaded spaces to relax. Wait staff find you everywhere and are happy to bring you whatever you want. Beach is ok. Too much seaweed. I would definitely come back.

Hello to all currently at this hotel, really top, I do not put 5 * because I am sure that there is better elsewhere but in the meantime I am there and I will stay well… well not much to add to the other comments. One small negative point but this is my fault I should have foreseen… impossible to change from € to $…, the only place where you can do it is at the Casino (important exchange charges).
Also and last point, if you have a room "live access pool", if you want tranquility avoid the rooms 2135 to 2140, they give direct on the pool bar and mega noisy l afternoon and until 6pm, cons ideal for those who want to fair (e) the party and activities of the swimming pool throughout the day. Slightly important point for the little gourmet… If you want, you can eat lobster all evening at the beach restaurant (seafood)

Went with large spring break group, checking in was very challenging. The staff in the seafood restaurant was great. Bartender in the middle bar makes the best drinks and says "yeah baby all day long with a smile". Denise was our waitress in the plaza bar and was awesome. Dancers make it a fun atmosphere. The 2 bartenders in the sports bar work their tail off. Only 2 of them for 300 people during NCAA tourney and everyone got their drinks. Would definitely go again.

They are the best holiday, the place is outstanding. The super people, the delicious food and lots of variety, the large rooms cozy and super clean… you will not regret… The guide is called ALFONSO and it helps people a lot. And it explains everything well. People all excellent service 04/10/2018

Several visit in Formula Club… Princess life Nothing to say bad that good.

Recently stayed at the Majestic Colonial with my boyfriend and it was an awesome experience! The staff could not have been friendlier and were happy to accommodate any need you had. Jeffry, our butler was amazing and always managed to find us to say hi and ask if we needed anything. The resort was kept extremely clean and it was beautiful. Drinks were very strong and all the bartenders were very friendly. The hibachi place was our favorite for dinner and the French restaurant was also a good choice. The lunch buffet was our least favorite but wasn’t bad, just a little bland. The beach in front of the resort is beautiful and you can rent snorkel gear for free and snorkel along the coast! The shows at night were entertaining and a fun thing to do at the end of the day. Awesome stay and we will return!

My wife and I just returned a couple of weeks ago from staying 8 days at the Majestic. It was absolutely amazing! Right from the welcoming in the lobby. There was a bit of a mix up on our room but was fixed immediately. Reinaldo was our personal assistant for the trip. We do not have one complaint about our stay. Food was awesome! Never a problem getting seated at a restaurant. We dined at the French restaurant for all of our breakfast's. Rigo, Fermin, and Pablo were awesome and actually ate there for dinner one night. They even went to one of the other restaurants to get us desserts that we wanted. Entertainment was very good, even watch a couple of hockey games in the sports bar with their three big screens. Beach was beautiful and facility was always clean. Good people, cold beer, great food, what more could you ask for. Going back in the fall! See you then!

Our honeymoon here was absolutely amazing! We stayed on the Colonial Club side and had the most awesome butler. Freddy was super accommodating and was always willing to help. The staff was always really friendly, especially Freddy and our two favorite bartenders, Rafael & Arelis. The food was delicious! Our favorites being Japanese & Mexican/Dominican. The only complaint we have would be the all the spring breakers; which isn’t the resorts fault. We would suggest this place to everyone! We will definitely be back again and hope we can see our three favorites when we return! Tanya & Corey.

Overall we had the most amazing trip! The resort was super clean and beautiful. All the staff members were very pleasant. The food was just good, the drinks were very good. We stayed in the Club side and the swim up bar and no children in the pool was the best! Our butler, was wonderful and we cannot wait to come back!

Excellent infrastructure beach pools. Kids Club. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Within the excellence I missed a little in the meals… from 1 to 10 I give 9.

I clear the weak point first, if it doesn't bother you, continue, I recommend this Resort hands down!
The weakest points are: — Restaurants a la carte, that is not to say that it is a bad point, but that all others are exemplary. So hard to do better we will by far the buffet has all the restaurant a la carte, whether it's morning, noon, evening — fruit basket in the room (2 bunches of grapes and apples) — honeymooner (go to the buffet instead you have 200x plus D E choice) is: Fruit loops/milk/coffee/potatoes stack/bacon/sausage lunch/watermelon/chicks/egg scrambles/orange juice… All the rest is exceptional, the whole hot Point. For example: — Daily activity at the swimming Pool A 4:00 — several activities at the beach — courteous Service — Total Bars, memory, I count 10 (3 reserve at the Colonial club) — Nourr Write very very good — 2 buffets, the main and the beach — burgers and hot dog every day has the main pool around 1h pm — meals vary at the beach between paella and chicken for example, around 1h pm — very spacious and comfortable room — Show varies a Daily at 10h pm — Disco Open from 11:00 pm — there is even a fast food open from 6.30 pm to 6.30 AM. The McJestic — and even more Colonial club ___ Go If you like these points: — 4 bottles of gift liquor, vodka, rum, Baileys style cream, Scotch, bottles around 400 ml.

Very friendly staff. Good location and swimming pool. Old mattresses and cleanliness in room scarce. Lack of natural orange juice.

Nice clean hotel. Well, nothing beats the ocean. Beautiful beach. Very friendly staff. Everything will help, prompt, all the time with a good mood. Only if you fly from Aneksa do not talk to our guides. They're like a waitress Nastenka from our Rashi. )

Very good place to enjoy a wonderful holiday. Very cozy, LA. Food well prepared and presented, all the staff very friendly, both in room service, restaurants and entertainment, welcoming and farewell very cordial. I recommend it.

This all-inclusive resort makes it easy to stay with good staff and beautiful beach views. Food quality runs the gamut between pretty good to really bad. Pros: — All you can drink (limited beer selection though) — Decent buffet food (at Supreme and La Hispaniola restaurants) — Events every night — Beautiful beach dotted with open lounge chairs and bar — Mini water park for the kids — Great swimming pools Cons: — Room smelled like mosquito repellent — Building construction needs more craftsmanship (repairs are shoddily done) — Avoid Tres Carabelas seafood restaurant by the beach. We had a hard, smelly crab cake that was inedible and a dry and chewy lobster tail that tasted of freezer burn. The grilled shrimp was okay though. — Sushi is sub-par. Salmon used to wrap the rolls were dry and stringy, almost like jerky. Avoid the sushi.

I have to pretty much echo what everyone else has said. Beautiful place with staff focused in your satisfaction. Our personal concierge was Junior and he was outstanding. Such a gentleman and would hunt us down each day no matter where we were to make sure everything was ok (not in a creepy stalker kind of way though). We had a poolside swim-up room in the family section and it was hands down the best thing ever. Nothing better than walking out on your own patio, lounging on a big bed by the pool or just stepping right in for a refreshing dip. There are daily activities in the afternoons for entertainment. Music is played for a while but never too loud nor continuous where you can't just enjoy some peaceful serenity. Food is maybe a 3.5 but for an all inclusive it's very much above average. The New Years dinner was very good though … 4.5 I'll give them. If we come back to the DR we will definitely come to the Majestic Mirage. They have earned our repeat patronage.

Excellent facility, attentive and fast, polite and organized staff. Impeccable care of the beach and the meadows. Many bars available (special mention to those with counter inside the pool) and choice between 7 restaurants, buffet and à la carte. Activities of fitness and musical entertainment in the evening (cute New Year's Eve party and the Beach Party! ). The only negative (but forgiable) concerns the bathroom finishes, to be improved.

We had a great week at this resort! All of the food and drinks were great. The views were awesome of course, and you can tell all of the staff truly enjoy working there. Jury, the pool bartender was fantastic! The only reason for the 4 star review is that one of the rooms our group was in had tons of water leaking through the ceiling from the room above. This lead to electrical problems in their room all week. Not a big deal but definitely something to note.

It is a nice resort. One star for beach front, one for selection of food, one for nice quiet room. They missed two stars, one for unfriendly staff, who always looking for tips. In some cases without providing any added service. And another list star not much to do other than eat and beach. Their night activities are hit or miss. In room TV is mostly in Spanish. Included golf cost you $45 for cart, which is mandatory and club rental is $45, so much for free golf. Water activities, as advertised is also false. You will need to take lessons for many water activities and those are not free. There is no direction for where daily activities are taking place.

I hope this shows up as 0 stars. We booked two rooms, the most expensive that they have, months in advance. When we arrived, we were told that that that level of room was not available. They downgraded both of our rooms (My wife and mine, and our two children) and said we would get a small credit. The credit was equal to about a one night stay in one of the rooms. We really had no choice, so our daughter slept in a room on a roll away bed in a room where the children couldn't change clothes with privacy — see MANY complaints about this on Google, Expedia, Trip Advisor etc. The resort told us that after 3 nights there was a room for them to go to that had two beds. Guess what? Our children packed their luggage, and put their suitcases in our room only to be told at 5:00 that someone decided to stay in the room with two beds and we were out of luck again. We went back to the kids room and to our surprise — they removed the roll-away! We asked the manager "Leo" to get us a roll-away and he said it would be there in 15 minutes. This was 1 hours and 5 phone calls ago. Thousands spent on a rooms that we don't have and no bed for a little girl and no response from the management at the resort. Ugh. Not a family friendly place. Lots and lots of other resorts in Punta Cana to try. Please go to them first.

Very nice hotel with nice amenities, spacious suite and beautiful cleanliness and service to the height, no need to book the sun beds and towels in quantity very nice and smiling special Mention to our butler KRANKLIN for his Kindness, its availability, and its professionalism, which did everything to make our stay enjoyable we loved our stay.

The hotel does not match the stated 5 *. Despite the fact that the reservation was made more than 7 months, we were given the worst room: with a view of the construction site + the closest to the theater, where there are loud evening events. There is no information from the hotel that the building is in full swing 20 meters. And also does not give you a choice and will sit in "leftovers" with comments "no places". The room had construction dust everywhere. Dirt from previous guests: hair in the bath, shower. Dirty utensils (This is serious), Slozhjonnaja in the closet at the entrance. After a long talk on reception and a photo from the room, gave another room: a little further down the hallway. With exactly the same dirt and 100% view of the building. In this room, which was also dirty: everywhere the divorces, same building dust everywhere. Neotmytye toilet, bath, handles, doors after previous occupants, etc. Also there was no water! In the sinks, shower and bath! All. After the next hikes on reception, in the room came the plumber and connected the water. It's been 1 night on the clock. The next morning we were greeted by a flood in the room. Unfortunately we had to spend at the Hotel 1 night, TC checked in at 10pm.
In addition to us this evening came a client who were also unhappy with the rooms where they were checked in. On all their requests was one answer: "We are sorry. We can not help "after such a five-star nightmare, we decided to change the hotel to normal.

Wonderful clean resort. Amazing food. Great happy staff. Really talented and professional nightlife entertainment. Overall a totally awesome vacation. Definitely coming back next year.

We were recently at the Majestic Colonial for a wedding. The resort itself is beautiful and very big. In fact, it was never too busy because of how large the resort was. We had our own space to relax. We enjoyed the choices in the buffet and the variety of a la cartes. We loved the fact that the buffet offered fresh grilled steaks and lobsters during dinner. The only thing I was not impressed with was the beach. It's filled with seaweed along the shore. However, they do clean it up every other day. Also, the fridge in the rooms were not replenished everyday. In conclusion, we were certainly very impressed with the resort. And the staff were definitely on top of their excellent services. They were very friendly and quite helpful. We made a coupe of friends in our short stay at the Majestic. The staff work very hard and very long hours but always manages to smile and sing to entertain the guests. I would definitely recommend this resort for a romantic, family or even a solo trip.

The resort was beautiful. There were always manicuring the grounds. The rooms are spacious. The food was much better than average. All good, except the bathroom and shower areas leave a little to be desired, unless you do not like any privacy. The is no separate bathroom. The only thing keeping you from being exposed is a frosted glass door. Looks contemporary, but not practical in my opinion. I'm hoping during the Fall 2017 renovation they will address the lack of privacy. The air conditioning system isn't the coolest either.

Overall great experience. Staff was superbly kind and helpful. Room kind of smelled a bit like B. O, but it was really clean. Recommend wearing flip flops in the showers because they're kind of large and therefore aren't the cleanest on the ground. There was a leak, but it was tended to very quickly. The beaches were beautiful and the food was amazing! Truly unlimited food and there's a ton of restaurants to try out. Most activities (kayaking) were free with the exception of some excursions. The bars were pretty great too with really friendly bartenders and a delicious selection of cocktails. Another thing to note is that the Majestic Colonial and Majestic Elegance are separated, so you can't really walk onto the Elegance side unless you go on the beach. Highly recommend this place to anyone who wants a nice all-inclusive experience.

I can't say enough about this place. Our first ever all inclusive experience did not disappoint. We splurged for the adults only Colonial Club and were treated like VIPs. The ground and facilities are gorgeous and beautifully maintained. The food is excellent (especially anything involved red meat and vegetables). The beach and pools are wonderful. The staff are energetic, polite, fun and keep the party going. Our butler Nilo arranged a fantastic anniversary surprise for us in our room despite us not letting the hotel know ahead of time. We plan to come back every year for our wedding anniversary. If you're looking for romance, fun, social interactions, sporty activities, or pure relaxation, they have it all.

My husband and I went November 2015! People and staff were so Great! Entertainment was great! I have to say one thing, didn't care for the food that much. Breakfast was great and lunch wasn't bad Also it was under construction so 3 restaurants were being renovated I can still say we go on vacation a lot and this was on the Best Ever Vacation we've ever been on! 2017 we're going back and staying at Majestic Elegance Also had no bugs, and resort was Spotless as our room They give a bottle of good champagne to every room and come to ur room everyday to fill frig with beer and soda! Then a come with a snack before dinner.

Excellent Hotel they gave us drinks since the very first moment we arrived the hotel, there is free Wi-Fi all over the place, great food and cool restaurants like the Japanese! Drinks are very good you can have whatever you want rum whiskey vodka tequila beer etc! Beach is magical whithe sands with great chairs and umbrellas, rooms are great, clean and big! The staff are very friendly and polite! I hope to go back soon! Excellent hotel, from we arrived we were greeted with a drink from the bar! There's free Wi-Fi for all facilities, the food is varied and the restaurants like japanese is great, don't let go. The drinks are excellent whisky, rum, vodka, tequila, beer, wine, whatever you desire is there. The beach is paradise with beach chairs and umbrellas for the sun. The room is very comfortable and the service staff very professional and friendly! I hope to return soon!

Magnificent experience, facilities are beautiful, the staff is fantastic, super friendly and respectful, are cheerful and very friendly, the food is spectacular, in special working Kenny of the lobby bar and Yerry buffet restaurant, are the maximum. We hope to relive that experience next year, we recommend it as an unforgettable holiday. Thank you for your service.

Don't stay here at any cost! SAVE YOUR MONEY! My best friends stayed here for my daughter's wedding. Our hotel, Luxury Bahia Principe Esmerelda was phenomenal! But it was sold out so my friends booked Majestic Colonial instead and spent 2 of their 7 day vacation trying to get $1000. US returned as it was stolen from their safe on their 2nd day! After 2 wasted days with management, they never did get the money back. Besides employing thieves, the food there was terrible, luke warm at best, and one time they even saw a bird sitting at the buffet… tail right in the food! We met others staying there, over the course of the week, who had their Ipad stolen and several other items of less value. They're crooks at this place! NOT where a North American wants to spend their vacation!

Beautiful resort, grounds, beach, food, and the workers especially Rizza, Mark, Spagitti! Mini Me are wonderful. However rooms need an upgrade and the front desk staff need serious public relations training maybe not all of them but certainly the ones on the day we arrived. Our rooms were not ready & instead of saying so they just kept pulling papers out of a box & then walking away. No one would tell us what was going on or why we could not get our rooms when others could. We were all angry & upset when a simple explaination would have been sufficient I could remember everyones name but I loved them all. I would go back but maybe need to learn Spanish as language is a barrier.

Went with a group of 60 for spring break April 2, 2016 (Seniors in HS with their families) Great place! Resort is beautiful, clean, top notch. Staff was awesome and lots of activities for people. Entertainment shows in the evening were excellent. There was lots of food to choose from, however I thought it all was pretty bland. I enjoyed the buffet at the front of resort the best. There is such a selection, you need to walk around and check every food station before you decide on one thing. I would defiantly recommend to anyone!

Got back a week ago. Wonderful time! Perfect weather, no bugs anywhere, grounds were immaculate, pool and beach were never crowded no matter what time you went. Wasn't impressed with the restaurants but enjoyed the buffet every night. No one got sick from any of the food. Not I, my toddler, husband (he eats strange food too) or cousin. Always different foods to choose from each night of the week. The cappuccino makes Starbucks look bad :) Very pleasant, hardworking, attentive staff. Wish there more children's activities to choose from other than the pool.

Huge place. Beautiful landscaping. Beach was nice. The room from the hotel to the beach is a long hike. The bar to the beach is also far. Bring your thermos. The food was bland and crappy. My wife and son got sick. The room's mattress looked like it was from the 70s and never been changed. Weird shower and it's all in one room. Take a shower while someone is on the bowl? A little weird.

Wonderful place with excellent service. Great buffets. Remember bring cash, at least european cards don't work on resorts atm.

Jorge and the girls were the best entertainers ever. They made our trip. The place is amazing the people were awesome. There was one bartender at the majestic elegance older he was amazing. He was funny and on top of his game. I did not enjoy my snorkel time thou. Reef wasn't nice enough and the ride there was bumpy. My oldest daughter 21 cried. It was scary. But other then that it was great. Thanks for the awesome memories I had celebrating my daughter's 21st bday!

My wife and I stayed at the Colonial Majestic Resort from January 30th to February 9th, 2016 for our 40th wedding anniversary trip. We have been to five other nice resorts in Punta Cana over the years but this resort was the best one we ever went to. The staff, the grounds, and the cleanliness of our rooms and the entire resort was second to none. The food was way above adequate. All the restaurants were excellent. Everyone at the resort works very hard to ensure everyone is having a fun time and we really did have a fun time. The beach party, the foam pool party, the nightly entertainment and the animation team were second to none. Two animation team members really stood out and they were Mr. Montero, who has a nickname of Spagheti and Mr. Jefferson who would take time to sit down and talk to people at the beach and took an interest in the tourists and really worked hard to make sure everyone enjoyed their stay. The Super Bowl Party was unbelievable! Great! And lastly, the two nicest bartenders at the resort are Juan Guerrera and his fellow bartender Fernando. These guys were always smiling and happy, they made a good mood for all. I really having nothing but praise for this resort, the management and the staff. We will definitely go back. While the pool was fantastic, the food and room were ok. The weather was great. But with that being said — Our main concern was witnessing a young man, that was a guest, drowning in the ocean. After a long search, a very long attempt at resuscitation and the worst emergency response I've ever witnessed, the young man died. There are NO lifeguards (even though looking up and down the beach every other resort has life guards! ). I work in the medical field and I have never seen such a nonchalant response to someone dying. Beware — if you get into the ocean in DR, read about all the drownings first so you are aware of the risks. Many people have drowned here, even young people that were likely good swimmers! Be prepared that if you or a loved one drowns or gets hurt, the staff will not be surprised or rush to help. And if they do come to help, they will not have the correct supplies or know how to use these supplies to save your life. We did not enter the ocean the rest of the trip. It is not worth swimming for a moment because then your loved one might have to endure shipping your body home. It's a problem and the only way to fix it currently is for travelers to not swim. Then maybe these resorts will take notice and be forced to have lifeguards.

I stayed here 2 years ago and had a GREAT experience. The pools are lovely with a pool bar and great staff. When you are laying in a lawn chair the waitress will come to you! Lots of bars. The food was amazing even in the buffet! You could seriously get an egg cooked every single way you can think of. The beach was nice with plenty of lawn chairs and cabanas. The room was gorgeous with a canopy and a hot tub was in the room for only an additional $15 a night. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a great stay in Punta Cana.

I've been in paradise from the 29th of December to 6 of January of 2016… in short: WONDERFUL HOTEL; STAFF AND TREATMENT IMPECCABLE. Fully recommended. Prior to the trip, I read the comments and worried me a little bit of food poisoning… I must say that they are all malarkey, I have eaten seafood, fresh, frozen, raw, vegetables, fruits… and it was all very good. The restaurants are very clean. Everything is very clean :) I hope to return soon and enjoy the new Majestic building and has a great pint too.

I wanted to give it a 1 but it was a beautiful hotel and the pool was awesome not to mention the beach. They also had free kayaking which was really fun. The food on the other hand was terrible! I had stomach issues the entire time. I asked for my meat to be cooked well and it was either cold or medium rare at best. I would of done excursions if it wasn't for the constant stomach problems. Got back home and turns out it was food poisoning even though I am usually very careful of what I eat whenever I go on vacation.

My wife and I had an amazing trip here for an all inclusive vacation. The beaches were gorgeous and the food was delicious (I recommend the French Restaurant! ). All in all the experience was unforgettable.

Traveled here twice now, had a great time in the colonial both times. The rooms are very open and the beaches and pools are always well appointed in seats and drinks. I would recommend to others looking for an affordable, pleasant getaway. (be prepared for some noise if you get a pool front room as it is on the main level)

I don't usually write reviews, but felt compelled to in this case. Overall, I would not go back here, nor would I recommend this resort to friends. 12 of us stayed in October and 1) overall we had a great time, 2) the resort was beautiful, 3) beaches and pools awesome with plenty of shaded spaces. 4) good liquor and the bartenders are awesome. The bad: 1) food is barely passable. Lunch buffet was gross. Been to 4 all-inclusives and this food is bad. Half of our party got sick. 2) a good chunk of the staff is not rude, but not overly nice or helpful. If you ask for something (towels, pillows, etc) the answer may be "absolutely" with a smile but it will take 2-3 days to get it, and you'll have to ask a few times. The exception is Rafael and Arelis at the pool bar. They literally made our stay better and more fun. 3) some people in our party feel that money was stolen out of their safe. 4) upgrading to the colonial club (adults only) was not really worth it. We never saw our butler. Lastly, there are NO free water sports, you have to pay for them all which is disappointing. So overall, we had fun and I'm glad we went, but I wouldn't go back to this resort nor would I recommend you stay there either. If you pay a little more the Excellence resort is AMAZING, and we stayed at a Palladium resort in Jamaica that were both way better.

Hotel and service spectacular!

Honestly we expected a lot more out of this resort that looked beautiful in pictures. We upgraded our room and had a butler who we only saw 1 time running around after our arrival. Our room was not ready when we arrived. 3 hours after our arrival, we finally got the keys to the room, they had just mopped and left the room feeling super humid because they left the floors super wet, the sheets and bed pillow cases were also always wet when they placed new ones. We had to call them to clean our room each day because even after leaving the sign for them to come clean, it was not done. The food we ate at the resort made my husband ill. We had a romantic dinner on the beach and they were supposed to have rose petals in our room and a bottle of champagne which we never received. The people were very nice but unfortunately the service was not close to being its best. If you like to walk a huge distance to get to the beach, the pool, the bars or the lobby from your room then this is the resort for you. We will stick to Cancun for our vacation destination specially after our perfumes were stolen out of our luggage at the airport.

We just came back from an awesome week at the majestic colonial club we had a beautifully decorated junior suite ocean view it was quite large with a second floor balcony with a gorgeous view of the ocean and the day we arrived we saw two weddings from our balcony. We stayed in the club section and we were assigned an outstanding butler his name was Franklin C he was very customer oriented he checked in with us everyday to make sure we had everything we needed and went the extra mile to make our stay very memorable. Thank you Franklin. We enjoyed both the beach and pool and also thank you to our bartender juan at the beach and Jose at the club pool. They had beautiful huts and canopy sunbeds at the beach and pool. The grounds were clean and beautiful. Most of the food was good at the Japanese, Mexican and French resturants. The steak was good at the seafood and steak resturants however the lobster at both resturants was tough. We enjoyed the shows at night at the theatre our favorites were the michael jackson and the circus. The staff was very friendly and we met a lot of nice people there. We really did enjoy our stay at the majestic colonial club and look forward to returning some day soon.

We went for 10 days and we had a blast! The staff were wonderful! Our butler Rafael "Tiger Woods" went above and beyond his job. He was very attentive to us. Ramon & Arelis the pool bartenders were very friendly and knew exactly what we were going to order. Franchesca from the entertainment team was hilarious! Thais waitress in the buffet was amazing. The towel attendant Joel was very sweet. Felix from the excursions was amazing from day one. He spoke to us every day he saw us. Food was ok. Besides that everything was excellent. We would definitely go again!

We were a group of 4. We all got sick, starting with diarrhea for me, then my brother getting high fever/headaches and diarrhea, followed by my mother who got the same thing, and then my father had the chills constantly. The beach is very nice and warm, except for the seaweed. The pool is big, and relaxing. There are some drunks in the main pool bar that are being loud and obnoxious for no reason… so we stayed mostly in the beach where it was quiet most of the time. We had a great maid for our rooms, and we tipped her. She deserved it. Her daily wage is 15 bucks, and she was a genuine person that did her job well. She was extra careful with what we requested and always had a smile on her face, despite being tired. We didn't bother with any restaurants, just cause we've had bad experiences in other resorts with booking and the food being horrible. So we stayed at the buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food was okay. I give credit to the chefs and the cooks that work every day to give as much variety. BUT… honestly, I don't know if they dip their balls in the water they use for cooking, or if they just take a shit and mix it with flour to make dessert; I don't know, I'm speculating here, but we got sick from something! And it honestly IS the food, or the water! It couldn't be anything else. Lots of people complained and got sick during our stay there. I reverted to just pizza, fries and bread after the first couple of days so I wouldn't get sick again.

I want to make sure this Review is read everywhere. I am very dissatisfied with my stay, will never stay there again. Our bed was full of bed bugs, the supervisor sent a person with a can of RAID spray to spray around the room. Then we asked to change the sheets and housekeeping placed the same ones that I had personally marked with pencil on 4 corners and thrown on the floor. (YES, They picked up the dirty sheets from the floor and put them on my bed) We complained again and he said he would send someone right away, 3 hours later we were still waiting on new sheets. Not to mention that all 7 rooms that were used by my family had bed bugs. My mothers room had 2 Cockaroaches, she squished them and left them on the floor, do you think that housekeeping picked it up? NO. It was there when we return to the room. The pool closes at 6pm. And the beach is very dirty. We were a group of 17 and the Restaurant by the beach refused to set up our table together unless all 17 people would order the same exact thing. My In-laws Room had the faucets loose, therefore there bathroom area kept flooding. Our bathroom floor was completely flooded one morning. The AC was not cooling. It was set to like 67 degrees and it felt like 78. The only thing good about our stay was our 2 servers from the buffet (LUIS and ANDRES) and the entertainment group was very good as well. I will personally make sure my review is on every page that recommends your hotel.

Zero hospitality knowedge from staff. I went for a wedding and everyone got food poisoning or diarrhea after the first day of eating the food. The bride and groom were sick for wedding day and I left the resort with a bad rash which my doctor determined is scabies. Very few people can communicate with you unless you speak spanish. I found them to be rude and not very accommodating. For the money spent I could have had a much longer nicer vacation in Florida where the water is just as pretty and you can actually eat the food and get a decent drink. Don't waste your money on this place.

As a Domincan myself, I pride myself in my culture. With the exception of the steakhouse, everything was terrible, we were constantly being rushed to eat the food, the staff had no idea what customer service is, we had to request multiple times that towels be brought to our room. The refrigerator never worked. One of the wait staff dropped a glass and one of the glass shards nicked my leg, he came with a towel and HAND SANITIZER to clean my cut… then I had to walk to the lobby to get a bandaid… The drinks were terrible, overall a terrible terrible time, AND left the worst possible impression on my friends that had never been to the Dominican Republic before.

I went with my family and the property was gorgeous. The people were nice and they were always walking around asking us if everything was okay. Unfortunately the beach had an gigantic amount of seaweed. I would feel it wrap around my ankles and just completely cover my feet. That had nothing to do with my rating, the food brought it down. The food was bland, and I feel that the food was too Americanized and did not have the Hispanic aspect it should have. When we returned everyone was sick and had bad stomach pains. The food plays a big factor considering it is probably the only food you have access to for the whole trip.

(I have amended my review because the resort has since been in contact to resolve the issue I had with them). The good: the rooms are lovely, the resort is a good size without being too huge, and there is a good variety of food and leisure options on-resort, plus the chance to travel off-resort for excursions. There really is 24 hour programming. The beach is gorgeous, and the water is too! Also, the 'dirty monkey' drink was one of my favourites — yum! The bad: our big issue was getting ill from the food. My husband was served raw chicken, and I got food poisoning — so bad that I passed out while vomiting and hit my head off the toilet, causing damage to my teeth — from red snapper at the french restaurant. It took four months since getting home for the resort for the management to keep their word and have my tooth repaired. Also, housekeeping does not seem to be on a regular schedule. Drink-wise, the house wines are not great (as with most Caribbean wines I find) and some of the regular mixed drinks are more sugar than alcohol. That said, I would still consider going back.

Wife and I just got back from Majestic Colonial from 5/9/15 — 5/15/15 well all information can say is that me and the wife have been on 9 cruises and loved them this resort is beautiful I mean beautiful the food I would have to give it 3 star's I will do a resort before another cruise again hopefully the food will be better other people from other resorts said there food was awesome but this one was ok the titiano restaurant was the best next to the Japanese buffet was ok not to the drinks we upgraded to the adult only and the drinks were top shelf not like the other side (family side) but all in all we had a blast can't wait to choose where we're going to next year.

My husband and I stayed at the Majestic Colonial the end of April of this year. It was our first time at an all inclusive resort and had high expectations since the Majestic is supposed to be a 5 star resort and had some great reviews. We upgraded to the Colonial Club adults only side. This we found was actually a waste of money for what you actually get. We had a personal butler who was really only around when we ran into him somewhere. He was a nice guy and everything, just not what we expected. The upgrade also came with a section of beach that was secured for adults only. This was great but you literally had to be there before sunrise if you wanted a spot with a palapa for shade, I'm not joking. People would save spots with a flip flop thown on a chair or a book and never show up the entire day. They say that this is not allowed but it was never enforced. I also understand now why they say that a 5 star resort here is equivelant to about a 3 star in Canada or the US. This was a very nice resort but I wouldn't rate it 5 stars, maybe 3+. THE GROUNDS-The grounds were kept meticulous and beautiful. The groundkeepers work extremely hard it very hot temperatures to keep it looking beautiful for their guests and I don't feel they get enough recognition for this. My husband and I tipped a few of them and said thank you for their hard work. This also goes for the young men who clean up after the slobs on the beach, we tipped them also.

We had a blast. The rooms were luxurious. The beach and pool was very nice. The restaurants had great food. Good drinks and music. Live entertainment every night. Classy. The Michael Jackson experience a must see. Everything inclusive.

Just returned from a 5 day trip to the Majestic Colonial and I have to say that although the hotel is 5 star the food does not quite match in stars. I would say probably 3 stars on the food. Not that the food was bad, there was a lot of variety and it was cooked fairly well usually over cooked actually. What suffered the most was the prep on the food and perhaps the quality and freshness. Bacon had a butane flavour probably caused by over firing in a gas oven, lots of broken bones in the food, specifically chicken, fried baloney for breakfast seemed a bit tiring by the 3 day. However putting that aside the hotel is amazing, the pool is awesome and the staff is great. The beach front is the best around and is well maintained by the staff. They do seem to over book the hotel a lot because they always seem to have issues with needing to upgrade people to other hotels which is not always a plus when you arrive late and you just want to get to your room. They try and get you to sign a waiver by promising to upgrade you to a better hotel but for some in our group the first night was a 5 minute taxi drive away to a 2 star motel. Eventually they got booked in to the Majestic and were given a lot of upgrades and a $200 credit for buying massages and stuff but that is still a minus in my books. I would give this resort 3 3/4 stars.

My husband and I recently returned from Punta Cana (3/3/15-3/10/15) after having stayed at the Majestic Colonial Resort. This was our first time in Punta Cana and we found our experience at the resort to be positively wonderful! When we arrived we were upgraded to the Colonial Club by the resort which gave us some extra perks. (Would highly recommend upgrading to this service. ) The room was spacious, very clean and up to date. Every room has a very nice terrace. Our bar was fully stocked daily. Housekeeping came everyday and kept our room spotless and well stocked with towels an toiletries. I can not express how happy we were with this resort. The staff was so friendly, always smiling and very helpful. The food was excellent with a huge variety to choose from. The pool was magnificent and always had some kind of activity to participate in. The beach area was magnificent. The beach was clean with plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas to sit under. The bartenders were always friendly and there were so many drinks to choose from. (Would highly recommend the Majestic drink). The resort offered nightly entertainment and had a bar set up every night by the fountains featuring the drink of the night. The Majestic Resort made our first stay in Punta Cana a wonderful experience and we will definitely go back again and will definitely be staying at the Majestic again.

Just had a 5 day Getaway in Punta Cana, originally was scheduled to stay at Majestic Colonial but was upgraded to Majestic Elegance. I had the opportunity to utilize both resorts and had a wonderful time on both. Rooms were very elegant and clean. Encountered small issues but all were dealt with in an efficient manner. Staff was so much fun and were very accommodating to our requests. Definitely would return to this establishment.

We stayed here 1/20 through the 27th of 2015. It was fantastic! The food was great, plentiful, huge variety, with 7 different restaurants to choose from. We ate at all except the french restaurant. The Room was very quite. Large, clean, huge beautiful marble shower, very comfortable king size bed and well stocked. Room service was extremely pleasant, fast and polite. Beautiful beach with clean powdery sand and crystal clear water. Pool was very clean and huge! There were no shortage of chairs and towels. Bars everywhere and very good service and the drinks were terrific. Not weak or watered down at all. This place is First class all the way. The staff was just the best and absolutely no issues. Bugs? not a one and we were prepared bringing Coleman deet and never used it. Night life from shows, casino, live music, this Resort is terrific.

Weather's great, rooms are beauiful. Weather at home is COLD — 28c. Love this place.

Just got back from an 11 day vacation. Second time there. Loved it. Friendliest people. Entertainment squad were so amazing, happy and talented. Wait staff were so attentive to our every whim. About the food; when you go to another country be careful not to eat too much of any one thing until you know how your body will react to it. The food and many a la carte restaurants were great. The older omelet chef at breakfast was so interesting and so quick at his job, we looked forward to breakfast every day. Next year same time Dec 1. My only complaint is for the staff at the front desk. They should take lessons from the rest of the staff on how to smile and be happy.

Hi all. My wife and I are still at the resort and we are enjoying our time here. Just wanted to say that weather is great, rooms are clean, the beach is awesome and staff is attentive! The hotel has 5 star rating, but when it comes to food, I would not give it more than 3. This is a tropical place and variety of fruits and vegetables should be out of question. We are not trying to pick on this place, but having the same breakfast, lunch and dinner for 11 days, makes it a bit boring. The buffet room is huge, but when it comes choosing what to eat, the menu is the same and the overall presentation (arrangement) is quite simple and not appealing. Huge countertop areas have an empty look. Must agree with other reviews on stomach issues. Food has something in it that does not agree with digestion. Bring some kind of medication if you are weak on stomach. For those who enjoy different kinds of foods and great service, check out Jamaica — Iberostar hotels — you will be amazed.

DO NOT GO! My family and I only ate in the resort, and we got really sick. When we returned home, we found out that we have C-Diff and a combination of other viruses that were caused from the food at this resort. My medical bills have already cost more than the trip itself and I am still not 100% healthy. I missed a month of work because I was bedridden from the C-Diff. Spend the extra money and go somewhere nicer. It is not worth the medical bills and terrible health that you can possibly get.

After being to this fantastic place I will NOT be going to Mexico again. The service was fantastic, the food was crazy good and lots of it. The drinks were great! The rooms were beautiful, the beaches full of fined grained sand with no rocks, and the water blue and warm. Loved it.

I stay at this hotel five days into my vacation and I could not feel more satisfied, if had a single problem was solved in less than 15 minutes and had employees such as Danny "Zambe" which seeks to give the extra mile to make your holidays unforgettable; with an inorvidable customer service. The reality is that I recommend this hotel for couples wanting a relaxation together time.

We were hospedandonos at the property in August were a group of 35 people and totally enjoyed the experience we feel truly on holiday in the pool area fernando is responsible for keeping us always hydrated and offer excellent service group adults as well as children in the area of the buffet miguel, maria, juan florencio and supervisor juan diaz did not allow any appetizer will remain without satisfying the facilities of the property are spectacular and there is no way to describe the treatment and the service received by each of the people who attended us during our vacation.

All very good only if you want it to Russian tourists here are very few mostly Americans.
