I took my first vacation to Dominican Republic and booked a room at Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort. I upgraded to an ocean view junior suite which automatically upgraded me to access to VIP beach (which I thought would upgrade me to all VIP inclusions, unfortunately that was not the case). The room was gorgeous, very spacious and clean. The resort itself was very well looked after. Food was incredible and there was a large variety (even without access to the VIP restaurants and bars). What was most interesting about Cofresi is that it is one of many resorts under one parent company, so I had access to go use other resorts pools, shuttle service, food, etc. This was very convenient being able to use their amenities. The resort puts on an entertainment show each night which is very entertaining and the dancers are extremely talented. A few of the entertainers really stood out: Skinnyboy, superman, and monkey. They were constantly energetic, especially after working very long hours. The reason why I did not give this resort 5 stars is due to the persistent unnecessary salespeople who want to offer timeshares. Multiple times we were taken on golf cart tours from these people stating they were going to "show us around the resort". We ended up the the opposite side at another resort owned by Lifestyle Holidays with NO WAY to get back to our resort. We had to walk back which was incredibly confusing and frustrating as this was our FIRST DAY at the resort.

Stay away I have traveled to many all inclusive and this is the worse experience I have ever had. The room they gave us was so bad. The room was really outdated, the ceiling in bathroom was leaking and looked like it was going to fall. The food was horrible, the same thing every day. The drinks are bad as well, tasted like drinking honey. Only the VIP beach at the Tropical is allowed for Cofresi Palm Beach guests. The tropical hotel is more lively and closer to activities. The Cofresi is pricey but not worth it. I’ll not return to this resort.
