The service and customer service is not the best since we arrived at the apartment we have to call daily to reception for the malfunction of the equipment and the noise of the constructions in the building, it was assumed that in this Holy Week we could rest but it has been an odyssey.

I've traveled the world. I've stayed in some pretty shady places. I was a soldier, slept on the ground in the mud, in the rain. This is the worst hotel I've ever been in. The bed is like concrete. The air conditioner sounds likes a freight train. The ceiling fan sounds like the helicopter I used to fly. Worst of all, management could care less. As I listen to my neighbor's TV and ceiling fan, I implore you, if you're looking for a good night's rest, do not stay here.

Where do I begin? My stay at Blue Jack Tar was the trip of a lifetime. This resort is a total class act and makes you feel like you are at an extremely exclusive resort. Room: Lets start with the room. As I walked in I was greeted with a beautiful view of the golf course with a full size jacuzzi in the middle of my beautiful room. I had a beautiful bouquet of roses waiting for me as it was valentines day. The room, restroom, bed, shower, towels were showered with beautiful fresh flowers! Extremely clean room with all the necessary bathroom amenities. Nice walk in shower with extremely hot water which is an absolute luxury and hard to find at some resorts. The bed was so comfy with clean blankets and tons of soft pillows. Nice patio to enjoy breakfast in the morning! Amenities: I went for a cigar trip so my group was around 60-70 people! The resort is very large but still everything is easily accessible. It felt like we had this resort TOTALLY reserved for us. Extremely exclusive and private unlike other resorts in surrounding areas like Punta Cana. Two different restaurants both with full bar. One is on the beach while the other is attached to the villas. There are also tons of water games / activities you can participate in. White plush cabanas located walking distance from your room and extremely helpful and hospitable staff on the beach to assist you and bring you cocktails of your liking.

This is a hideous hotel. It felt like a ghost town with nobody around. The breakfast was seriously lacking. The rooms were horrific, my bathroom smelled, and I was too grossed out to enter my shower. It’s not an expensive hotel, but the price for value delivered is horrendous. The concierge staff, though well intended, was lazy, inattentive, and unhelpful. If I never return it’s too soon.

This hotel / resort is just outside the city of Puerto Plata. A small resort that has a lot more upgrades to do. Here's a breakdown of the resort and the good, bad and ugly. The beach: One of the nicer beaches in the Carribean. Water is a little rough as the wind picks up but shallow enough to stand in. White beautiful and sandy. Right beside the beach is where the locals stay and there's flagged areas for tourists and locals. Since the place is smaller, there's no need to reserve chairs or beds early in the morning. There's always a place to sit. The accommodation: The rooms were decent but a little basic. Decently comfortable beds, partly upgraded rooms. The balcony was not kept clean and no outdoor furniture. Plugs were far and few between, fridge was small but useable. The sheets and covers were a little thin, but still okay. Also, there was a chicken and a rooster that just crowed all day long. I liked that there were little houses and it wasn't one giant complex… It made it quieter and nicer to get around. The Amenities: Here's where it got little dicey. The gym was not up to date, you had to crawl under a caution tape to get to the gym. The equipment was mostly rusted and the air conditioning leaked. There's lot of construction going on there… It's definitely not completed and I'd wait until it is to even considering returning. You can see some pictures of the apocalyptic land in my review.

The restaurant is a little piece of heaven… service is fantastic, the staff are very attentive and so so friendly… the food is fantastic, so much so that I have trouble deciding what to have for my lunch.

A hidden gem, literally. A very relaxing resort in Playa Dora, Puerto Plata. Comfortable, secure and not overly crowded. Very attentive and friendly staff. The grounds are surrounded with lush vegetation with the beach just a short 2 minute walk away. Good food at all 3 restaurants, Blue Jack for breakfast, Green Jack for lunch and dinner, Kite Jack for snack and beverages on the beach. A wonderful venue for a destination wedding too. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

Loved the peace and quiet. Could use a bit of etiquette when in comes to the waiters and staff but overall very pleased.

In my opinion a different product, for an audience that enjoys the tranquility and above all a high quality environment. The impeccable facilities, the service of its spectacular team of collaborators, the attentions of Dona Deyanira unmatched, the food we tried wonderful, a visit without waste. As a happy travel agent to be able to offer my clients a product of such high standards.

Excellent! The first thing is that the place is charming and the staff is very friendly. The rooms seem of an all-inclusive hotel, spacious, super clean and everything looks new and well taken care of. Also the breakfast and your comfort to be on the beach. 100% recommended to know Puerto Plata and have a good place to rest.
