It wasn’t our first vacation in Dominican but this one was the bad one. We arrived on Thursday June 19th, 2014. As we recognized later the resort was just half occupied, but we had to wait for our room ready till 4:30. Nobody told us that there is renovation in the resort. We are not young people, and we don’t spend all day on a beach or around the pool. Both of us like to have a rest in the conditioned room in the middle of the day with a good book or having nap. But the machine’s noise from outside made this totally impossible. The food in the buffet is good, not delicious but good. We like to have diners a la carte, so I tried to make the reservations to 5 restaurants a la carte listed in the resort. First of all you have to do this only for the current day; second – not all restaurants open every day; third – the Mexican and Italian restaurants are not a la carte, there are the same buffet, just not in the main buffet place; forth – you have to pay in Dominican Gourmet restaurant; and fifth – there are prefixed dinner in Japanese and Dominican Gourmet, you don’t have any choice as per menu they offered. And last thing I would like to share: we’ve never met bar service likes in this resort. Nobody offer beverage on the beach and around the pool. You have to go by yourself to the bar. At late night there are some waters in the bar next to lobby, but wait time is the minimum 15 min (this was record for us). Nobody changes ashtrays, and so on. All of this (except noise from renovation) is not a big deal, but all of this is quality of vacation.
