Good hotel, good service, a little far from the center, always touch to have or take transport. In the vicinity there are good food shops to prepare.

It is nice and I would rate it better but it is infested with cockaroaches. I mean, it’s a cheapy place what do you expect, but close ur suitcase bc I made the mistake of leaving mine open and my suite case was swarming with them. I had to clean it out. They say hot water but it is cold. The staff is very friendly. I got this hotel as an alternative just for keeping my stuff safe because I had friends I was staying with. This place is C grade definitely. If bugs and cold water don’t bother you, go for it it’s cheap.

We are now third time here … we return back and back … because hotel is situated close to Americana motorway / autopista / autostrada … which give you quick & easy access to city centre or other places. Many of hotel rooms was newly refurbished and furnished and are in good condition + hotel is keeping very tidy and clean. It is very safe place with cctv inside and outside. Owner and his family are always on site and they are very helpful, polite and ready to solve any of your request. We feel really good here on first visit … which make our mind to return here again. Our second visit only confirmed our good decision about this hotel and we come here again. We really do recommend this hotel to other visitors. Owner of this hotel and his family do provide Very good job here. Congratulations to You for that good place to stay in Santo Domingo.

Its a nice hotel very comforting all the workers are nice and very servicing… What they need is more activity for the customers and a better deal or a package if we would Like to bring family members to spend the day with us… Also it will be good if the club is open from friday thru Sunday for the customers and family members to spend time and charge us a % in fee cost like that we dont have to be going else where… This is just a suggestion not a complaint…

I really enjoyed my stay at the Tropical Island. Donald was very nice and professional. He always tried to make sure everything works and making sure that I was satisfied with the service received. I give it four starts because of some minors things.

I felt as though I was not just another client but like more like a friend. Each and everyday, Donald would make sure that all was well with me. When I needed help with calling a Taxi (as my Spanish was not that fluent), not only would Donald and his family call a taxi for me, but he even went out his way to give me a card with his both his home and cell phone number in case I ever get lost and needed direction. I can't stress enough how caring Donald and his family have been to me. Donald also gave me alot of good advice such as where to by foods, nearest barbershops, restaurants locations, and more. Guys if you thinking about finding a place to stay, don't just take my word for it, but look at the countless positive reviews about the hospitality that Donald provides.

This was the very best personable experience I have every had at a hotel. Considering I've been to 100s over my lifetime this assessment is HUGE! In every area that I can think of the total staff completely exceeded my expectations. This was my 4th visit to the DR since October 2015 so I've seen a lot. Here are just a few areas I'd like to comment on, although there are many. I stayed at the hotel for the entire 6 day visit. — Donald and his wife and daughter were exceptionally nice, compliance, accommodating and expeditious in their service and correction, if there was an issue. By the way, no stay is perfect, however, as long as the staff is willing to correct the issue in a manner that the flow of your stay is not disrupted, essentially, you have no problem! — Free breakfast brought to me to my room on time or early each morning. — He did everything he said he would do — Donald and his daughter translated for me when needed — I'm certain that Donald saved me at $100.00 US while I was there just in dealing with the locals who tried to scam me — His wife was equally as accommodating, even during the middle of the day I wanted coffee and within 5 minutes the coffee with cream and sugar, warm was in my hand — When I had a little problem with a young lady they fixed it and quickly removed her from the property — The prices of items that I liked were very cheap, i. E. Beer, water, Gatorade, snacks, etc.

Great place. Mr. Sanchez and his wife are very nice people. They keep the entire property clean, will arrange taxi services whose costs are very low, the Wi-Fi reaches the rooms which is not very common for hotels in Santo Domingo.

Owners Very nice persons. Nice place. Confortable. Safe. Near to the sea. Good trend quality/price.

The best of the best in hosting economico in santo domingo, close to everything, good facilities care of first.

A horrible experience! Not given the apt. That I booked. More like a dungeon! No internet, no hot water, no air conditioning from 7 a. M. To 7 p. M. No air circulation due to bad location of apt. Very small windows. Pooled water outside of door due to no drainage. Unfriendly proprietor, very bad customer service. The guy is devious, not truthful and very annoyed if you complain. Don't stay here unless you are desperate.

I had an excellent stay at Donalds apartment complex. He and his wife work very very hard to make sure the place is immaculate and in order. They were very friendly the entire time I was there (2 weeks). There are nice open air balconies on each floor with a domino table and chairs to use and the a/c worked great. My apartment was clean when I arrived and all appliances worked. Any issues I had, they were quick to address. I was glad that I could use the washer and clothes line on the top floor. The Wi-Fi network was excellent and the power never went out. The location is on a quiet street, but still close to the main routes, but only an 8 minute walk to the ocean, and you can see the ocean from the balconies. It was a very secure location. Honestly, it felt like home, and I miss it already. Thanks. Scott Martinetti.

Good host. Booked via his website. Was little late collecting me from airport. Would have liked he be there with sign like other apartments where. Nice man and family are friendly. One down side. No private access to apartments so have to walk by the owners home and front door when coming and going. But saying that they are very friendly and not intrusive at all. Neighbour hood was quite and room was nice. Wifi worked great. Very secure. The rental a jeep was good no problems. I would stay again in the future.
