Borbjerg Mølle Kro in Q&A

Information is provided based on reviews and may contain inaccuracies.

What dining options are available at Borbjerg Mill Inn, and is there a children's menu?

The hotel features an on-site restaurant offering a variety of options. Guests praise the quality of the food, describing it as excellent and delicious, and note the option to share portions. A dedicated children's menu is available, featuring items such as generous and tasty burgers served with french fries. However, guest experiences vary: one visitor was extremely dissatisfied with the lunch platter, complaining about cold rye bread, ice-cold fried tomatoes, and tough, cold meat.

What are the breakfast and special pastry offerings like at the hotel?

The hotel offers a breakfast buffet where guests can enjoy homemade bread. Borbjerg Mill Inn is also well known for its Sunday cake buffet with a selection of cakes and pastries. Some visitors consider it a great value at 100 DKK, while others were disappointed by a more modest selection compared to previous times. There were also occasional reports of tea and coffee running out in the pastry area.

How polite is the staff, and how is the service organized?

The staff is generally described as very pleasant, friendly, and welcoming. Team members are accommodating and readily assist with requests, such as easily rescheduling meal orders from dinner to lunch. Nevertheless, there have been complaints regarding a lack of tact from some staff members: one guest noted that young workers in overalls started sweeping around their table right in the middle of their meal. An issue with table reservations was also reported, where a reserved table had been taken by other guests.

What rooms are available at Borbjerg Mill Inn and what amenities do they include?

Guests describe the rooms as lovely and cozy. In particular, the Karen Blixen room is highlighted for its spa bath, which visitors find delightful. The hotel also features rooms with rooftop access via a terrace.

What is the atmosphere like at the hotel, and what recreational amenities are available on the grounds?

The property possesses a distinctive charm, reminiscent of an old watermill with a functioning wheel whose sound provides a soothing effect. There are animals on-site and an "old-school" children's playground, making it appealing for families. Guests can explore an exhibition of vintage items in the cellar, take a stroll through the garden, or rent a boat for an outing on the lake. Overall, the atmosphere is described as very cozy and picturesque.
