Wakeup - Aarhus

Value based hotel, fine for 1-night solo stay. The room was clean, quiet and had basic necessities, and the location is great.
However, I would not stay longer than 1-2 nights due to the overall limited experience. The bathroom supplies are very basic — hand soap and shower gel only. The AC is a bit loud, and the pillow has seen better days. Breakfast is simple but fine for one day, would not purchase it for additional days. The lounge area was under renovation and it smelled like sewage. The more inconvenient for a hotel is that there are stairs at the entrance and you need to carry your suitcases up until you can actually reach the elevator — that makes no sense for a hotel. And luggage storage is paid, no option for it to be stored at the reception. The room if affordable, but to extra add-ons of breakfast, luggage, toiletries I would have gotten a better place at the same price.

We were deeply impressed by the genuine kindness and eagerness to help shown by every staff member. Coupled with the hotel's spotless condition, the service made our stay truly comfortable. A special note of thanks to the efficient housekeeping crew. Our room was spacious, beautifully maintained, and impressively quiet thanks to the great soundproofing. Breakfast was a real treat—fresh, tasty, and with plenty of options to choose from. Highly recommended! The Wakeup Aarhus offers a superb blend of comfort, pristine cleanliness, and outstanding value for money.

The room could be a little more tidy and cleaned. It was not big but sufficient.
The breakfast buffet is good and not expensive, for the price you got nothing in this area. We tried but failed one time.
It is direct at the train station but very quiet. The beds are good.
The city Center is not even 5 minutes away and a mall is direct connected around the corner.
For a 2-3 night stay I can absolute recommend it.

It was very quick and easy to check in to this hotel for an overnight stay between a work trip and getting a flight the next day. The Wi-Fi and desk was good enough to get some work done before I went and the breakfast would good. I would have liked a kettle or complementary tea and coffee available though.

Simple but comfortable. The hotel feels clean and well maintained. The location is perfect for walkability with all manner of services available within a 2 minute walk. The location also shows off a lot of the Danish cultural uniqueness and beauty of Aarhus well, like lots of bicyclists everywhere and cute pedestrian-only areas and bicycle-only roads.
The hotel saves money by cutting down on services like room cleaning, and yet the price didn't feel low enough for that to make sense. Depending on when you visit, only the more expensive rooms might be available (as it was for me) ; the only thing you get with the more expensive rooms are a better view, so I don't feel it's worth it unless it's your only alternative.
Would happily return in the future, although I would make sure to order well ahead of time to get one of the cheaper rooms.

Overall a nice budget hotel well located. Rooms are small but cozy — ok for 1-2 nights. Overall quiet and modern design. No cabinet or racks to keep the cloths. Only a few hangers on a coat rack. Sink in bathroom unclean, full of hair below the plug — that was really disgusting. Check in staff was not very informative. Other staff at later time at reception was very friendly and helpful. Parking is in shopping centre behind hotel. Unfortunately cannot reach directly from hotel. Bike rent available and bike was fine and price ok. Nice restaurants and breakfast places around, too.

I was given the option of staying here for a work trip. It looked fine in the photos but there were some issues with my room and the hotel. Firstly, as others have noted the single pillow is rather inadequate for a comfortable night's sleep. The duvet failed to cover the queen sized mattress too, so a couple may struggle to keep warm. There were additional towels and a bigger duvet in a drawer under the bed but no spare pillow. I could have asked for one but I found the reception staff to be cold and unfriendly. Secondly, there was a strange noise that continued all night, like a low machinery humming. It was not too loud but might disturb some. Lastly, black-out blinds would be welcome in summer.
There are no "extras", the (paid for) continental breakfast buffet was fresh and fine but a toaster or other hot food options would be nice. The bag store is expensive too. I'd not stay here again on either a personal or work trip.

I had a overnight stay at the hotel. The room was very basic without much extra. It was very quiet, even though it’s located in the city center. The breakfast was simple but okay. The hotel’s location is perfect in relation to Aarhus city, and you can park in the parking basement next door. All in all, a good experience.

I like to stay here. It is in the center of Århus. Walking distance to everything.
You have the main train station below the hotel (No noise). The main bus station is a mere 500 meters down the street. And you have a shopping mall between the hotel and the train station.
At this hotel you are quickly in and out.
Not much space in the rooms — but doable in light of the low price you pay to stay here.

The Locations is the biggest plus. Staff is polite and helpful. Cleanliness is taken care of. However, the rooms are extremely small and the bath cubicle is barely enough to just stand. Breakfast buffet could have added a couple of more items for a better experience.

Unfortunately this time they had water tank cleaning planned. There was a sign at front desk saying there might be some muddy water from the tap but otherwise no problem.
This morning there was absolutely no hot water starting from around 0700 for at least 1 hour. I had to leave for work so don’t know when it came back on.
When I tried to contact the hotel via the Booking app, I received an automated message thanking me for staying at the hotel.
Not impressed.

Be warned, I was kept up all night by a mixture of what sounded like someone hammering a nail in the wall, and drunk people shouting in the street. Noise insulation from the outside was most definitely poor. The hammering seemed to come from within the hotel and was sporadic between 2:00-3:30am. Your mileage may vary.
Staff was very helpful and friendly. They are happy to lend chargers and other equipment. The room wasn’t bad either considering the price, everything seemed clean and working. Although I could have done with a better pillow, and more than just the one pillow.

The hotels is located very close to Aarhus Central Station and within walking distance from the walking street. Excellent for business travellers who need quick access to the public transport system in the city.

This was probably the best hotel I have stayed in. Confortable beds (really good sleeping) with extra pillows blankets etc. Under it, really cool bathrooms (— star for the thing when people can just watch you if the lay down and look in the bathroom)
Also about the bathroom in room 223 the left shower door was broken? Everytime I opened the door it just closed by itself.?

Location is fine since its pretty close to the areas we went earlier in Århus.
Although it is pretty expensive its fine.

Close to the center but we were not well received, the staff is not very helpful nor sympathetic, there is pay option for everything. And the rooms are not clean at all, you better not look too close in the angles and behind the beds. It is very dirty with various stains. It must have been there for months without thorough cleaning of the room. Bed is against the walls, bathroom and WC are separated from the room by glass wall. Bad expérience overall, find somewhere else to stay.

Not happy with receptionists. Tried to charge extra, and after a while he said he had put in double parking by accident. Unsure if it was true.
Family of 5, had informed the hotel and paid for extra bed. In the room there was no extra bed, my wife was treated rude when she asked them to help us fix the issue. She had to prove that we had ordered for 5 and show that we had paid for it…,
The room has bathroom in room with plastic shadings, so its still possible to see through giving little privacy.
Way too expensive.

Positives: We were allowed to check in before 15:00, and the hotel was very well located. Negatives: The staff didn't feel that service minded. The rooms were not that sound proofed, you could hear people in the hallway and other rooms clearly. You could hear EVERYTHING if one was using the bathroom because of the stall door. The bathroom also smelled urine. The cleaning personnel opened our room twice while we were sleeping around 8 and then knowing we were sleeping/not checked out parked their cleaning wagon right outside our room and started to throw glass and being generally very loud. When we checked out the hotel didn't provide free luggage storing and we couldn't go back to our room because they started cleaning as soon as we left. So overall a really bad experience.
