Danhostel Aarhus

Stayed for 1 night, in a 4 bedroom, 10 minutes drive from city center, rooms pretty nice, nothing special, friendly staff, expensive like everything else in Denmark.
Nice local area around, free parking for car. Bathrooms outdated, small rooms.

Really lovely!. That was the end from the northseatrail and a really surprise! A room for my own, with a nice backyard to take a rest, a great guest kitchen with all facilities you need… the Risskov strand nearby, Aarhus easy to reach by bus or walking. I meed more time for this place so I need to come back again. It is easy to come by train from germany. The Service was in advance very helpful cause of my trailroute.

Our family stayed here in early March and couldn't have had a more magical experience! We loved the location, set back in the woods and an easy walk from multiple public transportation options, and were so pleased with the room as well. To top it off, the staff was so helpful and kind, going above and beyond to help us have a wonderful stay in town. While we wouldn't necessarily have a reason to visit Aarhus again in the future, we would seriously consider staying here again to relax and enjoy the stay at Danhostel Aarhus!

First of all if you book a hostel, you don't expect a lot, just a bed to sleep and a bathroom. The only things that make a hostel nice are the people.
And that was totally not the case with the Danhostel outside of Aarhus. Before we were able to go to our rooms we got a lecture of everything we were not allowed to do. Like no own drinks and food, not just in the rooms but in the whole area of the hostel. We were a big group of students with our professors and wanted to have a picnic after the arrival. We were hardly allowed to put our luggage in the rooms with the "bad" food and drinks in hand. And she not just told us the rules she was just rude.
On the first day you probably think okay everyone can have a bad day but it got not better.
It was truly the worst hostel experience ever and I went to many hostels all over the world.

A good and quiet alternative to the hotels in the city center. Although this hostel is located about 3 km outside the city center, it is still an attractive option for those who want to visit Aarhus. The spacious rooms of the Danhostel are budget-friendly, the hostel is located in the Riis Park (night rest guaranteed), you can park for free and you can reach the city center in 10 minutes by bus.

Rooms are clean, the hostel itself is nice. However! Be prepared to pay extra for the bed linen. They also don’t provide the towels, which was a surprise for us and we had to go and search for them in the shops, in the middle of the night! They should’ve informed us of that before, so we could at least prepare.

For the price I didn't expect much. However, it turned out it's an amazing place. Not only it's pretty close to the sea and the around area is beautiful, the walking distance from the city is around 45 minutes, which is suitable for a nice walk when it's not cold. Also the shared facilities like kitchen or common room are very well equipped, everything is tidy and the room itself is more than enough if you only need to sleep over for a few nights.
