Go Sleep Vandel in Q&A

Information is provided based on reviews and may contain inaccuracies.

Where is Go Sleep Vandel located and what is nearby?

The apart-hotel is situated in a very convenient location for visiting Legoland, Lego House, and Lalandia, all of which can be reached in 7-10 minutes by car. Within walking distance, you will find a Brugsen supermarket, a pizzeria, and a kebab shop. There is also a bus stop near the hotel, which allows you to reach Legoland in 10-15 minutes. Overall, the area is described as quiet and peaceful.

How far is the airport and is it easy to get there?

The hotel is located very close to Billund Airport, with the trip taking approximately 7 minutes. Many guests choose this location for a short stay before an early flight or immediately after arrival.

Does the hotel have parking?

Yes, the hotel offers free private gravel parking located directly in front of the room doors. Guests note that there are plenty of spaces and the parking is very convenient.

How do the check-in and check-out processes work?

Go Sleep Vandel utilizes a contactless check-in system without on-site staff. All necessary information, including access codes for the building and the room, is sent to guests via SMS or email. Check-out is also handled remotely via a provided link.

How stable is the Wi-Fi at the hotel?

Guests note that the Wi-Fi at the apart-hotel works very well.

What is the soundproofing like in the rooms?

The soundproofing at the hotel has been the subject of many complaints, especially in the old building. Guests can hear every door slam, the electronic signals of door handles in the corridor, neighbors' footsteps from above, and street noise. Some describe the walls as thin, made of drywall.

Are the beds comfortable and what is the condition of the furniture?

Opinions on the beds are divided: some find them comfortable and high-quality, while others complain that the mattresses are too soft and that they "sink in." The furniture in some rooms is described as worn, with stains on the sofa upholstery, and some rooms lack bedside tables and nightlights. In certain types of accommodation, two single beds are pushed together.

How clean are the rooms and common areas?

Reviews regarding cleanliness are extremely contradictory. Some guests find the rooms very clean and modern. Others report serious issues: dust on wardrobes, dirty floors, stains on sofas, dirty ovens, and even mold in the bathroom grout. There have been complaints about hair on the bed linens and general untidiness in some studios.

How does the heating and ventilation system work at Go Sleep Vandel?

The climate control system is inconsistent: some guests complained of excessive heating, which forced them to sleep with the window open. Conversely, others note that the apartments are very cold in winter due to the central electronic regulation, which is difficult to adjust. There are no air conditioners or ventilation in the rooms, leading to significant overheating during sunny days.

Are there any unpleasant odors in the rooms?

Some guests have encountered serious odor issues: strong smells of sewage and mold in the bedroom and bathroom have been mentioned, as well as musty air due to the untreated wood wall finishes.

What amenities and supplies are provided in the rooms?

Rooms are equipped with a TV, a refrigerator, and, in many cases, a full or kitchenette with a stove, microwave, dishwasher, and basic supplies (foil, parchment paper, detergent). However, toiletries are completely absent from the bathrooms: there is no shampoo, shower gel, or bath mats. Some rooms lack wardrobes for clothes, providing only a few hooks.

Is the hotel suitable for families with children?

The hotel is well-suited for families, as it offers spacious rooms with kitchens where guests can prepare meals. Children can play outside, and the availability of bunk beds and sofas allows up to 4 people to be accommodated in one room.

We stayed here for three nights to visit nearby Billund for Legoland and Lego House. It cost a fraction of what the places available in walking distance of the Billund attractions cost and is only a 10 minute ride on a bus away. Unfortunately the bus only goes once an hour but if you time it right then no biggie.
It's a self-service check-in so if you're someone who wants to speak to a human at check-in then this is not the place for you!
Plenty of parking if you've got your own car. Small grass field adjacent to car park with a small climbing frame, slide and swing. Was able to kick a ball around with my kid when we came home, which was a neat bonus.
Kitchenette in the room did not have a microwave but otherwise reasonably well equipped and importantly was clean.
We stayed in the white brick built building — I would not have been keen on staying in the black metal container ones at this time of year (July) as they look like heat traps. Our room stayed a good temperature and windows are openable.

Go Sleep Vandel was a wonderful place to stay.
The apartment is very convenient for a family of four, it has two toilets, which is a big plus, and a fully equipped kitchen if you prefer to cook your own meals.
All the attractions are close by: LEGOLAND, Lalandia, Givskud Zoo, and many more 😊The host was incredibly helpful and quickly delivered everything we needed, so there’s no need to worry about the online reception.
The service was truly fantastic 😊Thank you, Go Sleep Vandel, for making our stay so comfortable. 🌷

Very convenient and quiet location. The appartment had a horribly warm temperature above 25C when we arrived in the evening which made it not pleasant to sleep. Well equipped even though lacking some practical simple equipments like cloth hangers or a shelf in the bathroom.
