Motel Stege

The motel offers free parking for approximately four vehicles; however, spaces are limited, so arriving early is recommended. There is also a dedicated garage/shed for secure bicycle storage, where electric bikes can also be charged.

Check-in is self-service: guests receive a text message with a code for an outdoor lockbox containing the room keys. The staff is described as very pleasant, polite, and helpful; for example, the owners assisted guests with booking a taxi. The contact person responds promptly to inquiries, although some guests noted that they did not see any staff members at all during their stay.

Breakfast is not served at Motel Stege, but there is a bakery and a supermarket nearby. For preparing meals, guests have access to a large, fully equipped shared kitchen with spacious refrigerators and dedicated storage boxes for each room. Additionally, some rooms feature their own small kitchenettes with a stove and cookware, although one guest mentioned that their kitchenette was poorly equipped (lacking a freezer and having very few glassware items).

Many guests complain about overly soft beds and mattresses, comparing them to air mattresses. Rooms are described as spacious, clean, and tastefully decorated, with some featuring tables with four chairs. The room windows are fitted with mosquito nets. However, the furniture in some rooms feels dated, and one review mentioned a smell of cigarettes.

The bathrooms are equipped with essential amenities, but they have a few drawbacks. Guests most frequently complain about shower curtains being too short, causing the entire bathroom floor to get wet after a shower. Small sinks and an overall aesthetic resembling a gym locker room are also mentioned. However, the general cleanliness of the bathrooms is rated positively.

Guests have mixed feelings regarding soundproofing at the motel. Some consider the rooms well insulated, while others complain about noise from neighbors upstairs and sounds from the parking lot if staying on the ground floor. It is also noted that common areas can be noisy late at night due to conversations between other guests.

Most guests rate the cleanliness at Motel Stege very highly, describing the rooms as "impeccable" and "spotless." The grounds and outdoor courtyard are also well maintained. However, one visitor noted that their room was not clean enough and had a tobacco smell.

The motel is well-suited for families with children, offering family rooms with bunk beds that teenagers particularly enjoy. On-site, there is a cozy garden equipped with badminton rackets and other outdoor games.
