Egn Boutique Hotel

Delightful in all respects from beginning to end. Rooms are small but beautiful and comfortable. But the two aspects that really make this place special are the location and the food. Mon is an underrated gem of the first order. The biking and hiking here are as lovely as anyplace I have ever been and I have been all over the world. And the meal we had here! Michelin star level without all the fuss. Julia and Jesper are a wonderful — he is the kitchen whipping up fabulous stuff — and Julia pairing wines and providing attentive and thoughtful service. Really cannot recommend this place more highly.

We stayed one night at EGN Guesthouse, a quiet and well-kept spot in the countryside. Parking was easy, with spaces available right at the front, and the room was small but clean and functional — just right for a short stay.
Check-in, however, felt a bit disorganized. The host had trouble locating our reservation and asked for my name several times. While it was eventually resolved, it wasn’t the smoothest welcome. Also worth noting: check-in is limited to 3:00–5:30 PM, which may not suit all travelers.
The biggest letdown was breakfast. While the setting and setup were pleasant, the offerings were minimal. There was no fresh fruit at all, and the only eggs provided were soft-boiled in the shell. Though the elderflower juice was a nice local touch, we couldn’t help but feel underwhelmed — especially since the guesthouse is chef-owned. It seemed like a missed opportunity to offer something a bit more special or inspired.
While the guesthouse was quiet and clean, the overall experience just didn’t feel as personal or memorable as we had hoped.

We had the most incredible stay at Egn! It was a very special weekend as I was planning to propose to my girlfriend over the weekend — Julie was incredibly helpful at making special arrangements including a bottle of champagne and some beautiful flowers!
The hotel was wonderfully decorated and had a nice cozy feel to it. Jesper was an incredible cook and all the food that we ate was delicious — the breakfast buffet was one of the best I've ever had and the meal at Restaurant Egn was incredibly high quality. We had the tasting menu with wine pairing and it was honestly so delicious.

Great hidden gem! Beautiful location and close to Møns Klint. Julie and Jesper have created a wonderful place with Michelin quality food and wine parring. Julie is fun and engaging and they both provide really nice service. The place was clean and our room was small, but very nice.

We only stayed one night while stopping to see Mons Klint before heading back to Copenhagen. The place is lovingly decorated and beautifully maintained. The owners are genuinely welcoming and helpful. They handle most of the tasks, including the cooking and serving. The husband has cooked in Michelin level restaurants in several countries and that level of experience is evident in the superb quality of the dinner, four courses with well chosen wine pairings. The breakfast is a fine example of a tasteful and warming Danish buffet-style morning meal. A wonderful, peaceful complement to the splendor of the chalk cliffs. We will absolutely stay again, whenever we return to the island.

Great place in the country and within walking distance to a beach. The hosts Jasper and Julia have paid attention to every little detail from the rooms to the breakfast served to the wonderful gourmet dinners that are offered. Everything is raised locally and fresh. The dinner was equal to a 5 star restaurant and served with excellent wine pairings. Reservations must be made in advance so if you are staying there, make sure you reserve a spot for dinner. They have a lovely garden to lounge in and the beach close enough to walk to for a morning or evening dip. We highly recommend this place. It is also close to Mon Klint which is a must in the area. We stayed for 3 evenings and had time to explore the area.
