Situated on Písek’s main square, this hotel is just 200 metres from the town’s popular Stone Bridge. It offers a restaurant and a café-bar with a winter garden. Free Wi-Fi and a small fridge are standard in all rooms at Hotel City Pisek. A hairdryer and toiletries are provided in the bathroom. Breakfast is served daily either at the hotel itself or at a partner hotel Bila Ruze, 100 m from the property. We came and dine in their restaurant in March 2003, which at the time was a hidden gem. The food was all delicious. They offer a duck dish which required a 24 hour advance notice which I knew about to ask for. The total was under CZK 500 at the time.
➜ A hotel full of surprises. It's hard to get worse. Closed at arrival reception. Call foreigners. Ojee. Then no German word in the hotel. Wanted to eat in the evening. Restaurant closed. WLAN password did not match and hot water was also not. And 20 channels only from Czech. A nightmare for me. Then free parking as described. It's not true either. From 08.00 O'Clock was nicely distributed with the nodules. All in all. The hotel would have to reimburse me for the cost. Without compensation. It was the lion's den. Never again. Oh and in the morning the reception was too and breakfast what I paid. Didn't exist either. Got the key stuck and left. In Germany, this would almost mean a hotel.
