The MadHouse Prague Hotel

I'm going to level with you guys: I was a little crestfallen during my first few days at MadHouse, since I was in fact expecting to stay at what would have been, to the best of my knowledge, the first hostel based in a functioning lunatic asylum in the world. Turns out that instead of, you know, actual incarcerated maniacs, the whole place is just filled with loads of like-minded travellers hoping to get the most out of both the daytime and nightlife of one of Europe's premier travelling destinations. Disappointing, to say the least. Instead of well-meaning orderlies with straitjackets and special sleepy pills, the whole joint is staffed with ultra-friendly travellers who spend pretty much all of their time making sure that you have the best time possible. Gross. No prison style-canteen with pureed apple slices either, instead they have the tenacity to make delicious home-cooked dinner each night so that you can have a break from the endless traveller monotony of undercooked ramen and overcooked pesto pasta. Hard pass. I personally think that the best thing about — a — Mad House over — the — MadHouse is that you don't have to worry about going outside, since you're court ordered to stay put. No such luck here, there are all these weird night time activities where they take you to all these interesting and fun bars and clubs and DJ sets in abandoned churches. The shame of it al! Worst insane asylum hostel ever, I'd only stay for about a month, tops.

Hands down the best hostel in Europe! If you’re going to Prague and want to party in a clean well managed place with awesome staff then this is your place.

All I can say is that this is probably the best hostel I’ve ever stayed in and would 1000% recommend it to anyone! The staff are what make it so great though and I couldn’t speak highly enough of them xxx.

Simply one of the best hostels I've stayed at. Small with a family vibe means that you get to know all of the guests and staff staying there through family dinners or communal beer pong. The nights out however are next level, some of the best nights I've had in Europe (let's not even mention the Pub Race). Guys keep doing what you're doing, this place is amazing.
