Hostel Elf

I would really like to recommend this hostel to everyone who is planning to visit.
First of all, the service here is absolutely amazing! You can’t even imagine how open, kind, and friendly the guys at the reception are. They always help, give advice, chat with you, and share useful tips. So incredible service?!
We arrived on Christmas Eve at 4 a. M. And they kindly opened the doors for us, gave us advice, and took us in. Later, they also helped us find a room for two people (we didn’t have a reservation).
The hostel is very clean — the cleaning staff does an excellent job!
In addition, there is a kitchen with 24/7 free access to tea, drinking water, and coffee.
We also happened to be there during the Christmas celebrations, and on that day the hostel treated all guests to traditional Czech cuisine for free.
And most importantly, the main reason to stay here is the community. Every morning and evening, guests from different countries gather in the kitchen, so you can easily socialize and make new friends from all over the world.
I highly recommend this place to all travelers, and I’m very grateful that Elf became my first stop while exploring the city of Prague.

I stayed here for about 4 nights (in December 2025) and it was a wonderful place to stay, especially as a solo traveler. The hostel is very clean, well-organised, and feels comfortable from the moment you arrive. The staff are incredibly polite, welcoming, and always happy to help with anything you need.
What really makes this place stand out is the variety of daily activities and events, which make it easy to meet other travelers and enjoy Prague even more. They also offer useful services like laundry and other amenities that make your stay very convenient.
Overall, a great hostel with a friendly atmosphere — I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Prague, especially solo travelers.

My time at hostel elf was unreal. Staff at reception were very friendly and polite, always up for a chat. Rooms were kept clean. The kitchen was user friendly. Bathrooms kept clean as well. I found the whole place had a cozy home vibe always people around willing to talk the beer garden is cute outside. Most nights had events or activities to join in and meet people. The hostel was located close to main station but 20min walk to the main hustle and bustle.

Great hostel. Cool vibe, incredibly nice staff. Made accommodations for me as I tried to exchange my Czech currency before leaving the country.
We had a private room and they gave us more TP for free and some napkins to use as kleenex (normally there is not kleenex in the private rooms). They also let me store an ice pack in a staff freezer upstairs.
I didn’t get to try any of the free dinner but I heard it was filling and good chance to meet other guests. It was VERY convenient for me to be so close to the bus station.
Zizkov is also a cheaper area than old town/new town so I think we saved money on small items and a few restaurant meals, although it does mean longer travel to get into old town/new town. But IMO Zizkov is better—more quiet, less crowded with tourists.
At least in the private room with the red and blue color scheme, we couldn’t hear the noise of other guests very much. Good shower with plenty of hot water, spacious private bathroom.

The location of the hostel is very good. Close to the center, to bus stops, central stations. Plus, it has a forest right behind it so it's easy for morning hikes. I didn't have high expectations of the rooms. It has a bed and good thing they added curtains. It would be awkward otherwise.
The staff was always helpful and nice. They helped me with every question I had. The activities they have for the guests are nice. Unfortunately, I didn't took part in many but I can guarantee that it's worth going.
The floor wasn't that clean but everything else good. If, possible maybe they could add more pillows or just a bigger one.
It was good and I recommend going there. I do believe in future I would stay there again.

Freedom and great staff and stuff.

Really nice place, it has a simple but lovely style, clean, good service and very tolerant people.

Always staying there while in Prague. The hostel staff is friendly and ready to help you anytime you need! Rooms are clean, they have lockers, charging place next to each bed, also small decent lamp to read in the bed. Hostel is located about 7 minutes by walk from the main train Station, behind the hostel there is park with stunning view to Prague.

First time I stayed in Hostel Elf was 2008. I was planning to stay for one night but it ended up to be one week because I enjoyed so much. Last week I came again and found out that it was still the same lovely place. Friendly stuff and cozy terrace. I wish I could have stayed more this time as well.

Fun little place to stay, friendly and helpful staff. Laundry service by the lovely ladies at the front, nice outside area with terrace cover to hangout! Lastly, fridge is always full with beer.

This place is a gem! Matt, Honza and Helena were the best part of the place! Be sure to inquire about the sunflower fields.

This is the best hostel experience I have had. The location is great, just a 2-minute uphill walk to the top where you can see the whole city and a bus ride or a longer walk to city centre. The people were lovely and there was a strong sense of community. I would definitely recommend it.
