Aphrodite Sands

This appartment complex in the quiet, sleepy village of Mandria is perfect if you just want to relax by one if the 2 pools or as a base for exploring. We stayed in a two bedroom, two bathroomed appartment. The veranda was large, full length if the apparment, which was equipped with everything needed, including a washing machine. Every room had independent air conditioning and was spotless.
Angeliki and Peter were so friendly and helpful and both speak very good English, which was helpful as my Greek is non-existant. If you look at the photos on their website, believe me, they are not doctored, what you see is what you get. It was the perfect, quiet location, which we wanted and we plan to go back again next year. Oh and the sockets are 3 pin British ones, so no need for adaptors!

Visited Aprohdite sands for 10 days on 8th-18th August, there was 10 of us including 5 children ranging from 3yrs to 17yrs.
We arrived about 11pm. Peter met us on arrival and showed us all to our rooms and gave us a little tour of how things worked in the room including the air-conditioning which was bliss and definitely needed!
Rooms are lovely and spacious, we were pool facing in a 2 bed/2 bathroom with a huge balcony. No complaints about the rooms at all. Housekeeping came regularly and provided fresh towels and emptied the toilet bins. Huge bonus for us was a washing machine and airer. Came home with barely any washing!
Pools were lovely and warm, very clean. No sunbed wars which was a huge bonus also, you could go down at any time and grab sunbeds.
An ice cream van came around 4pm everyday which was lovely as there is no shop on site. The kids really looked forward to it. Try a Rambo!
The local shop and restaurants are lovely. The shop is very basic and you can get essentials like milk and bread but ideally you need the larger supermarket in Timi which is about a 5 minute drive.
Peter arranged hire cars for us which were reasonable and stress free, reasonably priced aswell. We drove to Paphos harbour for dinner most nights and visited the water park and Coral bay beach. You are fairly remote so if you like to get out and about a car will be essential.
Fantastic holiday and would definitely return.

We had a lovely holiday in this apartment. You have everything that you need for a good stay.
The resort staff were very responsive and helpful.
If you like Spa treatments, I highly recommend them, I had 2 treatments (facial and full body massage Kleopatra) and they were the best treatments, that I’ve ever had before. Helen (the massager) had a very positive energy and was lovely to speak to. The massages were amazing.

I don't know why it's called Aphrodite Sands — the nearest beach is quite a way away, and even then it's not sandy … But who needs a beach, when you've got 2 good-sized swimming pools? The whole complex — apartments, pool area, gardens — is spotlessly clean and well maintained. The management staff are delightfully welcoming and helpful and informative. There is no provision of food or drink at the complex, but there is a small shop and five or six restaurants in the village, just five minutes' stroll away. There are buses to Paphos — the bus stop is fifteen minutes' walk. There is a good supermarket about 2k drive away, so do what we did and hire a car at a very reasonable rate — ask at reception, and they will arrange it for you. Our only quibble with the apartment is that the lighting in the bedrooms makes it awkward for the ladies when they're getting ready to go out in the evening, as the mirrors are not conveniently positioned. And the only complaint about the pool area — as previous reviewers have pointed out — is that the sun loungers are a bit tired, with the cushions being either tatty or/and in short supply.
But all in all it was an excellent stay, well priced and comfortable, and I would strongly recommend it. (When booking, ask for an apartment overlooking the pool area, as the ones at the back can get a bit noisy with cars coming and going. )

I was situated in a 3-bedroom 2-bathroom apartment along with 2 friends through AirBnB. We didnt have any room service or cleaning done, since it wasnt included in the price (but it could have been provided if paid for). The resort is located in Mandria, outside Paphos, which is a great place to be situated ONLY IF YOU RENT A CAR. We rented a car and it was really only a few minutes drive to the closest restaurant and market. If you arent planning on renting a car, be prepared on walking for 15-30 mins in scorching heat (we were here in the second week in September when every day it was 30-35C) to the center and/orr to the bigger shops. We dont know what the situation is regarding the public transport, but judging by the amount of buses we saw on the road, it is fairly rare and packed with people. Other than that, the rooms are big and sunny with a lot of windows, each bedroom has a separate AC, the balcony overlooks the football field across the street and we had an orange tree just underneath which decorated out late night cocktails. The pool facilities look really good, but we didnt use it. Also, be careful because the water is not really drinkable (contrary to the resort's guide — the water tastest funny) and toilet paper shouldnt be flushed.

What a wonderful little gem the Aphrodite Sands is. We stayed in a 3 bedroom apartment with an enormous balcony overlooking the pool. It was well furnished and even had a washing machine which was a welcome addition. There were a few minor issues like a crack in the bath, and one of the outside chairs was so frayed it broke during our stay but it was replaced quickly. The other thing I noticed was the neighbouring apartment had sun loungers on the balcony but we didn’t which was a shame.
The pool area was beautifully maintained and despite being there in August we never had any issue getting sun beds, even when we didn’t go out until mid morning. The spa and gym were great too. My son spent a fair bit of time in the gym and I enjoyed a very reasonably priced massage in the spa.
The apartments are located about a 15 minute walk from the beach and there is a great little beach bar there, along with sun loungers and umbrellas on the beach.
The local village centre is only a 5 minute walk away has some lovely restaurants and a well stocked mini market. Some people staying at the apartments didn’t have cars but I would say a hire car is vital to really enjoy the area and get further afield as Cyprus has so much to offer.
The icing on the cake was the manager Peter who was so friendly and accommodating. He was always available and happy to chat and offer advice.

A lovely quiet and pretty location, despite being only 10 mins from the airport. It should cost about €30/35 euros to get from the airport to the apartments in a taxi.
Spacious and comfortable apartments, basic style but very clean. Washing machine in apartment and excellent air conditioning.
Huge private terrace over looking the pool which is lovely. The terraces have a table and chairs and ours also had 2 loungers and an airer for drying washing which everybody seems to use. People don’t drape towels over the balcony’s, so it’s a pretty place to sit!
The outside pool area is lovely. The apartments are very attractive. Nice padded sun loungers, there are a few which are not quite so nice but mostly good and there are plenty. Cleaners prepare the area every morning, gardens kept nicely. It’s a quiet resort, no music, very relaxed and very nice guests when we were there.
5 minute walk to 5 restaurants in Mandria, our favourite was The Tavern, excellent Thai food. Also little supermarket which has everything you need.
Walk to Mandria beach 20 minutes, beautiful sunsets and rustic very friendly bar.
Nice loungers, parasols and new clean facilities.
Taxi to Paphos is €30/35 euros.
Now the best bit…. Peter and Angela, the resort hosts. You couldn’t meet a lovelier Cypriot couple. They are the most welcoming and genuinely good people. They greeted us by name when we arrived and welcomed us like family. They are the cherry on the top of Aphrodite Sands.

If you want to relax, Aphrodite sands is the best place ever. I have travelled all over the world, and this was by far the safest, quietest and most relaxing holiday I’ve ever had. I went with a group of girlfriends a week after UK half term, it was quiet, hot, no long cues at the water park, plenty of choice for sun beds etc. It is self catering, however the apartment was well equipped for cooking and there is plenty of restaurants, a mini mart and bars within a 5 minute walk that are excellent value for money, and best of all, not one “looky” seller trying to grab your attention, totally safe and peaceful.
We did have some construction noise however some of the apartments are residential and privately owned, so this was I no fault of the resort. The staff were quick to apologise and intervene, as well as offer us sauna time (which we politely declined due to the heat) but they were so very kind and I wouldn’t fault the stay because everything else was perfect. 10/10 recommend for calm and relax.

We re-booked here for 7 nights as it’s the perfect location for birdwatching during spring migration. We emailed before and asked for a room facing the fields. The room allocated was more than we had expected. We had a 2-bed, 3 bathroom apartment. Fully stocked and a perfect little terraced garden with balconies each side of the apartment. Plenty of parking. Large fridge, freezer. Microwave, oven, kettle etc.
Salt, pepper, cutlery, plates, cooking utensils all included.
Lots of places to eat in Mandria village.
We had a late flight on the day of departure and asked if we could keep the room or store our luggage, we were up and out at 5am each day so they advised they could confirm this before we were due to check out. A few hours later we had a text saying we could keep the room for as long as needed that day and this really helped us out and meant we could freshen up before our flight home.
We absolutely love this hotel and this is our first choice for every visit to Cyprus.

Thank you to Lia and Peter for making us so welcome during our 5 week stay. The pool and gym facilities were well used by us, and we thoroughly enjoyed our massages given by Eleni — we both slept so well afterwards. Eleni was also so welcoming and friendly when we went for our gym sessions.
We look forward to returning next year.
