Review of E-Hotel Larnaca Resort & Spa 4*

Update 4/11 — on returning to the Hotel a gentleman said “I’ve been looking for you! ”. He then explained that he was the Manager and had been busy that day but had seen my review and thanked us and said that we could have a sea view/pool view room which was a lovely surprise! He was charming and gracious and it’s clear that all the positive aspects of the hotel are due to him 1/11 — We arrived Friday night and dined in — the only guests to do so. The service was great and the food was average — chips were cold but the dips were tasty. I’m going to start with the positive and then outline the not so positive. The rooms are large and comfortable, and although we’d asked if there was a possibility of a sea view prior by email, we would have to pay. So, we’re in a room overlooking the road (the hotel is virtually empty and it seems churlish not to give your guests the best rooms you have, if you can — and had they done so we would be overwhelmingly recommending this place to all and sundry — that’s basic marketing) but it’s clean, the bed is large and comfortable with fresh fruit on arrival. I like the design of the room — it’s got everything you need as well as being distinctive. The pool is lovely, although cold, but there are lots of loungers and parasols, and plenty of terraces with seating, sculptures and waterfall features — All in all the resort has a peaceful, calm and classy feel to it. The breakfast is excellent — fresh fruit and salad, ham and cheeses, yoghurts, nuts and seeds, croissants, cereals, eggs, fried potatoes, frittata, beans, bacon and frankfurters, bread, juice, teas and coffees. The not so positives? The service was a bit sketchy and I can appreciate that this is the end of the season but if you’re in the hospitality business then being hospitable is kind of a requirement, but the weekend receptionist and the breakfast waitress are both lovely. Because of the time of the year (low season) there is a feeling of that, understandably and some decor updating is possibly in order — but this is a great time to come to Cyprus — the weather is great but not too hot, flights are half-full and they could capitalise on this and get lots more people in — I would recommend this resort — for the peace, location and charm.
