Maricosta Villas

I recently rented a villa in Cyprus and unfortunately experienced several serious issues that I believe other guests should be aware of before booking.
From the first night, the basic systems in the house were not functioning:
• the air conditioners did not provide heating,
• the boiler did not produce hot water,
• the toilet was leaking.
I reported all of these problems immediately. The next morning, a group of people attempted to enter the house without any prior notice while we were still asleep, which was completely unacceptable.
Despite multiple reports, none of the issues were fixed.
After 5.5 days of staying there, the situation became even worse — the water supply stopped completely, and there was no water in the house at all.
When I contacted the landlord again, I was told that nothing would be repaired. My request for a refund was refused, and afterward the landlord stopped responding to calls and messages.
At the moment of writing this review, the property is not suitable for living: there is no heating, no hot water, a leaking toilet, and now no water at all.
I am currently inside the property without cold or hot water, without heating, and the toilet only stopped leaking because there is simply no water in the house.
I am sharing this information because I am genuinely shocked by what happened, and I want other people to be aware of this experience if they consider dealing with these landlords.

We stayed at the start of the season for a week and had a great stay while diving and snorkelling with the Taba Dive Centre. The accommodation is basic but it’s very clean and tidy with a well-equipped kitchen. The team have done a great job maintaining the apartments and surrounding property to a great standard. The pool and gardens were clean and parking on site was easy. We appreciated the flexibility of the management and the fresh watermelon from their plot was a pleasant surprise.

Stayed in a 2 bedroom Villa with own pool. Everything you needed for a stay was available, pool regularly.
Cleaned as was the Villa and outside areas. The staff very accommodating and friendly. Excellent location too for the lovely sandy beach and bars & restaurants. Will highly recommend the Villa to family & friends and look forward to returning.

Arrived to find no reception or staff which wasn't a great start to check in. After 10 15 mins a lady arrived and showed me to the room. Room was large as fitted 4 but I was solo travelling. The place had self catering stuff fridge stove etc which I didn't use as eat out. 2 large balcony areas was nice and it was generally clean yet dated. Bed a bit hard. Convenient supermarket a few meters away and 5 mins away from fig tree bay via car.
Overall was cheap and provided exactly what I required no complaints apart from lack of staff initially.

Nice apartments but definitely dated and in need of a good revamp during the winter. Friendly staff, great if you are a diver, near beach and diving school, or like a quiet pool. Restaurant called Happy is very close by and has excellent food and very friendly staff. Three local supermarkets nearby. The steps into the pool aren't suitable for people with mobility problems. Need to make steps less steep and add a hand rail. This needs to be done as a priority. Pool bar was closed and also pool toilet steps were very steep and no hand rail, so not suitable for people with a disability.

Maricosta Apartments is strategically located at the heart of the Pernera area. Right opposite it there are two big supermarkets; it is only a couple of minutes’ walk from the main road where there is a pharmacy, the bus stop and a plethora of shops, bars and restaurants. And it is roughly a four minutes’ walk from the popular sandy Kalamies Beach.
Maricosta Apartments is a family owned and run business. Daily, the owners are on the scene keeping the customers under their personal care. Other members of staff are very courteous, helpful and efficient at all times.
We stayed at Maricosta Apartments for the period 19-26/8/2023 in a single-bedroom apartment. We have been going to Maricosta for the last nineteen years; yet again, they lived up to and enhanced their reputation: our apartment was spacious, spotlessly clean, well equipped and well maintained. Moreover, everything in it was fully functional. Also, there was free Wi-Fi Internet connection that was very powerful too.
We recommend Maricosta Apartments unreservedly and are looking forward to going back there again!

Very good value for money. The furniture might be out of date, but the rooms are well equipped (everything you need in the kitchen, microwave, large fridge, very good pots, dish soap, etc), good air conditioning and Wi-Fi. The pool is a nice bonus. And the staff is very nice, hard working and friendly. Also, excellent location, close to bars and shops, but yet quiet, and also close to a nice beach.

Great spacious living room with well equipped kitchen, bedroom with plenty of storage & both with a patio door to a private balcony — Rooms cleaned every 2 or 3 days, fresh towels & bed linen, beds made too.
The inclusive aircon for the price is a huge bonus as there are many that charge 5 Euro a day after you arrive!
Great swimming pool (cleaned every morning I think), supermarket 20m away, decent bar/restaurant over the road & many others within 5 — 10 mins walk.
Great beaches, one a few mins walk (quiet but still loads of watersports) & another half a dozen within 15 mins walk.
Cannot fault the place at all.

We had a fantastic 2 weeks in a maricosta villa. The staff are so friendly abd so hard working. They came every day to clean the pool and several times to clean the villa, change towels and bed sheets. Andreas is very accommodating and nothing was too much trouble for him. The villa is well maintained and has everything you need to have a perfect holiday! The location is great as there are shops, restaurants and bars within walking distance. We were also allowed to use the large apartments pool which was lovely (as a change of scene with our young daughter). We would highly recommend a stay here as the staff are so welcoming and efficient.

I stayed with my boyfriend at Maricosta Apartments in May. The apartments are family run and we received a friendly welcome when we arrived. The apartment was basic but comfortable and exceptionally clean. There were shutters on the bedroom and lounge patio doors and heavy curtains in the bedroom so the bedroom was lovely and dark for sleeping. The owners were present during our stay but not overbearing. They kindly brought us a watermelon from their farm on-site which was delicious. Pool area was clean and tidy and beach is short walking distance. Plenty bars and restaurants nearby and regular bus service to Protaras, Paralimni and Ayia Napa.
