Kapetanios Bay Hotel Protaras

We’ve recently returned from an absolutely fantastic 2 week holiday in Protaras, Cyprus (Sept 2025) where we stayed on a Bed & Breakfast basis at the Kapetanios Bay Hotel. This is our 2nd time at this hotel and quite frankly, it just goes from strength to strength and is absolutely superb!
As a disabled holiday maker, I am cautious as to where we book our holidays but with the Kapetanios Bay Hotel, I was not left disappointed as most facilities were met. The rooms were just great and facilities around the hotel were exemplary. The hotel was really amazing and brilliant value, and so much so, we will be booking back there for our 3rd year very shortly!
Hotel.
Great location situated towards the top of the ‘Protaras Strip’ which is the main epicentre of activity for bars, restaurants and a variety of different shops and great access to the top road which has a number of lovely bars and restaurants and is also a short walk to the promenade and gorgeous beach.
All areas in the hotel were pleasantly decorated and kept spotlessly clean and the cooling effect of the air conditioning in the reception area was an absolute blessing as we were experiencing temperatures of around 34°C mid-morning rising to approximately 39°C by mid-afternoon.
Staff.
All staff here have been absolutely first class, fantastic and have made our holiday so complete!

We spent 7 nights at this hotel and overall had a fantastic stay. The hotel is very clean, has a great location, and the pool was always spotless. Breakfast and dinner were both abundant and very tasty, with plenty of choices. Our room was cleaned daily, the bed was made every day, and the staff were always extremely kind and welcoming, which made us feel very comfortable.
The only small downsides were that music from nearby clubs could sometimes be heard at night until around 2 a. M. And in the bathroom there was occasionally a slight smell, even though everything was kept very clean.
Despite this, we truly enjoyed our holiday here and would happily recommend this hotel to others.

We stayed ay this hotel from 7thto19th September as a couple, on arrival we were greeted by a really nice man the talked us through the rules and regulations and we went up to our room. The room was very spacious but the bathroom was another thing completely lol really small but did the job.
The beds were a bit hard for me but a never lost a night sleep.
We were in room 305 round the back overlooking the carpal and pool and we were never bothered about the noise from the bars.
Got up the next morning and had breakfast it was a typical all-inclusive breakfast but we always found something to eat and they had English hash browns lol.
The pool was brilliant the pool was always warm and the swim up bar into adult pool was lovely.
Dinner was another whole ballgame, you could either have a 3 course meal or food from the pool bar, everything was made to order so was fresh and plentiful, you WILL NOT STARVE AT THIS HOTEL LOL I will defo stay here again booking to stay in 2027 when holidays come out defo.

Hotel was lovely and clean. Nice selection of food at the buffet, staff were friendly and helpful.
The hotel is situated next to a few bars that have live music on which can get very loud but didn't bother us or stop us from sleeping if we were back early after an evening out but this might not be for everyone.
The location is perfect for a nice evening out should you want to wander further down the strip or stay nearby.

This hotel was that fantastic that we have booked to come back at the end of October. Where to start? Firstly having never been to cyprus before but seeing the reviews about the noise I emailed the hotel in advance to request a pool view room and was emailed back the most lovely personal email, not the usual 'we will see what we can do'. We arrived, the greeting we received was so friendly and warm from the reception staff, who always took time to say good morning/evening when ever we passed. We get to our room, and as requested it is a pool view room at the back of the hotel, just a standard room that we paid for so we weren't expecting much, it was extremly clean, not huge but all we do really is sleep there. Awaiting us was a lovely welcome card with a plate of fruit and 2 little bottles of wine which I thought was just lovely. We did have a funny moment when we realised that my 6ft 3in husband had to bend to have a shower as the ceiling is quite small, so a little bit of a design floor, but we found this funny rather than a complaint. So we get back from having a few drinks after a long day travelling and see that at 1.30am some people already had towels around the pool (pool area is amazing, large family pool and adult only swim up bar and jacuzzi pool) so I was a little worried that this was going to be one of those holidays where you have to be up early for a sunbed or miss out… that wasn't the case.

Here at the moment the new pool area is fantastic, the hotel is in a fantastic location on the strip been here twice now and coming back next year.

Stayed here 4 yrs ago and loved every minute of it. Chilled out from morning till late by the pool areas… yes you have done a great job on renovating the pool area. But the music for pool bar was extremely loud from 10am — 19:00. The music should only be at the pool bar, not around the sun loungers where your guests only want to sunbathe and relax. Every day of my six day stay at your hotel, I've left and gone up to our room to get away for peace and quiet… peace and quiet is what most guests would like as a choice, and having spoken to many of them they all feel the same… Also, was vert difficult to secure our own sunbeds, it became a competition, as beds were being taken up by non residents of the hotel, and residents in general were leaving their towels on the beds all day from six in the morning.

I have been coming to this hotel since 2016. In recent years it has had a fabulous upgrade. Always had a lovely time in the past. Coming this year it isn’t the hotel it used to be. At weekends it is a nightmare as they open the hotel up to locals. The music is so loud and the behaviour of some isn’t great. There is an 18+ pool which is used by young children. The staff don’t seem to care that children used the pool. The staff are nice. Especially Diana. Don’t get a room on the side of McDonalds as there is a new bar opened just passed it. The music is really loud until 3am. That isn’t the hotel’s fault! I think my time is done with this hotel and will look for a different hotel next time.

Great position in protaras. Staff have been so helpful and friendly so I can't praise them enough. The grounds are just excellent, the main is a good size and sits along side the pool bar. The kid's pool has a water fountain and shallow.

Beautiful hotel which is why this review is such a shame to leave, but unfortunately I won’t be recommending it to anyone and definitely don’t recommend it to anyone who is English and looking to feel welcome. Firstly I’d like to highlight how accommodating the members of staff are — especially Diana in the restaurant, she couldn’t have gone out of her way anymore to make us feel welcome and her service skills are 10/10 as well as speaking excellent English. She made our stay at this hotel more bearable as did the man behind the pool bar with the glasses (didn’t catch his name). The 2 lady’s who work on reception were also absolutely lovely and welcoming and always said hello and good morning to us which was nice. When we first arrived, we had to be moved rooms due to the uncleanliness of the first room we were put in. It was horrendous (see pictures attached) and very unhygienic. It definitely had only had a quick wipe over and was unacceptable. The man on reception was apologetic but we arrived at 12.30am due to our flight being delayed so this was the last thing we needed. He moved us rooms and the room we were put in still wasn’t very clean however we couldn’t be bothered to move again so just grinned and bared it. The cleaning needs massive attention and it really does let the hotel down as the rooms are nice.

Excellent hotel with excellent location located at the city center, extremely clean & comfortable. Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by the friendly reception staff. Shops, restaurants bars are within walking distance. Definetely recommend this hotel to everybody! We love CYPRUS❤
